Nikita @ Wikipedia
Nikita @ IMDb

Nikita is a trained spy and assassin who escaped from who escaped from her black ops division called, well Division. She was the best they ever had and she is still the best. Now they want her dead. And she wants to bring them down.

I was never that into the original movie by Luc Besson and I never watched the first series. But after Alias I thought I gave this new series a try. But it didn't pique my interest at all; there was nothing special about it. And worse: It was not just not that interesting; I got bored while watching it. And the "twist" and the end was no twist at all. On a show like that a twist was to be expected. And the part where she was the one behind the pig mask was an non-twist for me because it was so blatantly obvious from the start.

Is it the first series or this new one that you tried and didn't find special?

This is about the new series with Maggie Q that started this week.

I'm glad to hear that Karsten. Big Lots (again!) had the entire series for $3 each and I bought all 5 seasons. I don't know anything about the old series but I couldn't resist the price so I took a chance. One of these days I'll get around to watching them. Has anyone ever seen the original series? The original series was titled La Femme Nikita.

It is you again.  :voodoo: I haven't checked in a while, but I always stayed away from a purchase because the sets were too expensive.

I've only seen it dubbed on German TV years ago. It's a bit like Alias with a sado-maso touch. Not a must-see (which is another reason I haven't bought it), but pretty enjoyable.

Why don't our Big Lots ever have anything like that!  I never seen the original series either... but would love to see it.

Dragonfire

The original series....did that air on USA network in the States?  Or was there one before that?  I saw the one on USA some off and on throughout the run of the series.
I still haven't seen the original movie.  I have Point of No Return, the US remake of the original movie.  I've seen it a few times and enjoy it.

Personally, I think that the remake is by far not as good as the original (no surprise here). If you get the chance, you might want to seek out Le Femme Nikita (US title).

Critter

This aired in Australia for the first time tonight and I thought I would give it a go. Not bad, I think maybe too similar to Alias in the first episode, but I really like the character Alex, and the fighting and action scenes seem to be handled well so I will probably keep watching this one. And I know this is a remake of a movie/tv show but I haven't seen either of them, just thought I would try this one anyway.

Critter

Whoa, I just finished watching episode 11 of this show and man! What a great show this is turning out to be. I had my doubts at the start but that last episode I watched is one of the best single TV episodes of any show I have watched in a long time. It's also just been fairly high in terms of standards for it's whole season so far. I'm really getting into this, it's halfway through season 1 and I really hope they keep it as good as it is. It's probably my favourite show currently airing right now.
