It is nice every now and then, the Gold Class cinema in my town though doesn't allow for 3D for some reason though, so if you want to watch a 3D film you will have to go to a normal cinema but apart from that it is awesome. And the seats are very comfy, and full recliners too.

It looks like it would be comfy.

I just did some looking.  There are Gold Class theaters here, but only 6 in the country.  Least that is how it looks to me.

Here's the site I found.

Gold Class Locations

Najemikon

We have this sort of thing in the uk. Most common is the Showcase method of creating a luxury section behind the cheap seats, but there are dedicated screens too.

Bloody Twilight should not be anywhere near.

Dragonfire

I was just looking to see how much it is at these theaters in the states.

Anyway, one of them in Illonis has Toy Story 3 in 3D...and it says no one under 21 is allowed in any of their shows.

It looks like Eclipse is going to be in some of these here too.  Blah.  They even have a special menu.  Double blah.

Eclipse Menu

I also found the regular menu...I think for the one theater that said all their shows are for 21 or older.

Now I want a snack...and I have nothing like this stuff here.

I'm sort of glad we don't have that underage rule for it here. Since the drinking age is 18 it would mean no one under 18 would be allowed to go into Gold Class. That would obviously have some high points but then I remember all those times when I was younger and went to Gold Class and loved it, I have been going there since I was about 13 or 14.

It's true that Twilight shouldn't be anywhere near it, but unfortunatly it's probably the film that will make the most money in Gold Class out of all of them.

Marie, is there really only 6 in the whole country? I'm pretty sure we have close to 9 just in the city of Melbourne alone, and aside from that they are found everywhere across Australia. Hell even I only live in a smallish town we have two Gold Class theatres.

Alien Redrum

They had something similar to a Gold Class theater around me. Nice chairs, small theater, indie movies and a good menu. Sadly, it closed down. I still miss that place on occasion.

Dragonfire

From the website I found it looks like there are only 6.

I think I remember hearing about something sort of like this before..but not called Gold Class.  Dinner served while watching the movie..though I don't know that the seating was as limited as it is with Gold Class.

Critter

It has different names here depending on the different chains of cinema. Village Cinemas: Gold Class, Reading Cinemas: Gold Lounge, Hoyts Cinema: Director's Suite etc etc. So they are all cashing in on it haha.

Dragonfire

The one I had heard about before had actual tables to serve dinner on.  I think they only show certain movies too..not the mainstream popular ones.

For some reason I get the impression you're not a Twilight fan.

Critter

Oh Kevin, you have no idea the extent of my hatred for the entire franchise.

Dr. Hasslein

I probably do, I don't exactly hold those movies in the highest regard.

Critter

That's what I like to hear

Sparkling vampires, Pffft! They wouldn't know how to spell vampire.

Dragonfire

I have liked other vampire movies and books that did little changes to vampires...but something about them sparkling.  That's just wrong.  And it doesn't help that the effect makes them look like they have been doused in glitter powder in the movie.
