Is it Almost That Time Again?

I have decided to downsize my collection. I had close to 7,000 DVDs in my house between my collection and the duplicates I inherited. I'm going through my DVD collection. I'm cleaning, organizing, updating and deleting as needed as I go along.

I already gave away all of my duplicates to some nurses that are continuing a film therapy program I helped develop as part of my master's program. I'm also giving away some to a few friends who love DVDs as much as I do.

Once I get all set I figure I'll have around 5,000 or so left. I want to get this number to about 2,000. I know I'll only get a few dollars selling them but I really want to get rid of quite a few of them.

I'm trying not to add any more DVDs to my collection until I get this all done. So, if when I win, I'll find someone who will want these too!

Then, when I'm all done and my collection is a reasonable number, I plan on buying the DVDs on my wish list!

Try to sell them via Amazon Marketplace.
They are a quite expensive platform (at least in Germany where the charge € 1.20 + 15% per sold article). But selling is better there than on EBay, and your offer remains online there for at least two months.
Even if you only make 1$ (after charges) per DVD, this should leave you a nice start for your wishlist.

Well... I can see this weekend is going to be a hard one for me. Here it is Friday... the day I start watching movies for the weekend. I am sitting here looking at my unwatched DVD list... and the only thing popping out to me is the horror titles. As of today I have gone 61 days with no horror... and let me tell you I am really starting to feel it now.

Question for you all.

Now that I have season 2 of Dexter I was thinking about re-watching the first two seasons starting tomorrow. I never seen this as a horror series... though there is a lot of blood in the series. Is there anyone here that sees this show as a horror series?

Horror? No! Crime and suspense? Yes!  :2cents:

That is about the way I see it as well... I just didn't want to start a thread on the Dexter episodes... only to be called a cheater because they see it as horror. :P

You wouldn't believe some of the torture they put me through last year... like... You can't watch Wizard of Oz because of the Wicked Witch of the West!  Everything I watched was under scrutiny!

I know I've been torturing Pete. I keep telling him that contributing data for horror DVDs violates the "no horror" guidelines.

I do agree that Dexter is not horror...so enjoy!

That is clearly a lie. We would of course let you watch The Wizard of Oz. It's a musical and all the songs would be torture in itself

As of today I am 72 days horror free! And 30 days of non-horror to go. It is definitely getting hard now! But I still think I will make it.
