If im honest I don't mind the world cup coverage.... Usually I get annoyed when they disrupt the TV schedule to play football games, the world cup is ok with me.

I can't wait to see it end, since we have to wait it ends for an update of OOTP Baseball since the developper is German

Always found it weird that the best baseball simulation game was developped by a German, for all I know baseball isn't a popular sport in this country

But it had a great mod community (wich I'm a part of, I don't watch movies only ) and each released is almost flawless.

OK, here's my picks for the knockout stage...

Uruguay
Ghana
Germany
Argentina
Netherlands
Brazil
Japan
Portugal

I think it fits here better...

I do like the style of humor YouTube occasionally shows to have. Anyone notice the little football in some of the video applications when browsing directly on on YouTube. When you click on it, the sound of the video is drowned out by vuvuzelas.  :hysterical:

The 'easier' half of the knockout stages have started with Uruguay going through and Ghana have taken an early lead against the Americans.

I think England/Germany have it toughest. They could potentially meet Argentina, Brazil and Spain. :-\

2 for 2 so far.

Big day today and I couldn't sleep last night. I just wish I was there, especially after being at Germany 2006 (and France 1998).

Unbelievable referee's decision. Cracking game though after 45 mins.

Antares

If England should lose by 1 goal, this and the non-US goal in the first round, will probably force FIFA to adapt video replay.

I think it should be sufficient to have a chip/transponder in the ball. But today the referees seem to be godlike.

England played horrible and were beat by a cracking tam. I hope you go on to win it.

From an offensive viewpoint, Germany was a juggernaut in that game, but from a defensive stand, they look young and vulnerable.

Let's face it, that non-goal was huge. It forced England to commit to a more aggressive offensive stance in the 2nd half, leaving them vulnerable to the kind of goal that Germany scored on that 3rd goal. After that, England looked like a whipped cur.

If Argentina wins this afternoon, I think they can expose the weaknesses in Germany's defense.
