She is another actress I like... but I don't really have that many movies for. I am sure I must be missing some good ones of hers.

Here is what I have:
- The Brave One
- Contact
- Flight Plan
- Foxes
- The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane
- Mesmerized
- Panic Room
- Silence of the Lambs

So what do you say... what am I missing good from her work?

Besides the obvious ("Taxi Driver") I only have the movie "Inside Man" with her. I can recommend that one.

I think you'd both like the original Freaky Friday, the Disney body-swap comedy she did as a kid.

Would you believe I never seen Taxi Driver?  Bag

I completely forgot about that movie! I used to watch it all the time.... whenever it came on TV when I was a kid!

I think I will order it the next time. I did enjoy the remake after all. I have never seen this one though.

I haven't seen the original Freaky Friday since I was a kid. So I really can't say how good it is. But I think I will be ordering it as well. Besides... it will give me something new to add to my '70s marathon! Tongue

I'm completely serious.

Every time it was on TV, I would come in during the film, and stopped because I wanted to see it from the beginning.

Then I bought the DVD two years ago in one of my most over the top buying periods and it just sat there in the pile of un-watched.

But believe me Jon, the one film it took me forever to see was A Clockwork Orange. I just watched that a few months ago for the first time. Bag

The film which has been in my unwatched pile the longest is "Black Hawk Down". I bought it almost 7 years ago and I still haven't watched it  Laugh

Jodie Foster is one of my favorite actresses...probably my favorite contemporary one.  I went to just about every film of hers at actual theaters up until Flightplan.  Then I got a bit tired of her just doing thrillers.  I kind of liked Nell...she got an Oscar nomination for that one.  I also think if you want to see her in something lighter (even comical) you should check her and Mel Gibson out in Maverick.  Some guy named Garner is in that, too.

As to Freaky Friday, it's typical Disney escapism.

I was expecting to see you in this thread Roger! I knew you wouldn't let me down! Tongue

I was considering Nell as well. And I completely forgot about Maverick! I remember renting that one when it first came out and think I remember enjoying it. So that is a possibility too.

What do you all think of The Accused?

Colleen West never liked the first light of day.

Both seconded. As well as Little Man Tate.

Sommersby (directed by Jon Amiel of Singing Detective fame) is another Western with her that is rather good. Not a comedy, though.
The Accused is definitely a must-see, despite the somewhat worn-out story.

Five Corners and Hotel New Hampshire on the other hand are pretty skippable.

Very good film.

Interesting tidbit...

The story that the film was based upon was the infamous pool table gang rape at Big Dans bar in New Bedford, Massachusetts back in 1983. The girl's name was Cheryl Ann Araujo, a girl I hung around with when I was between the ages of 10-13. The strange thing was, I hadn't seen her in almost ten years and didn't put the face to the name, until the last day of her testimony, when it hit me who she was.
