It's raining cats & dogs here, and it's going to be doing it for the next 6 days.

So I'm thinking about going to the store and hitting the Redbox machine, and I'm fighting the urge to rent Inglourious Basterds. Half of me is thinking, Well, it's only $1, and I should at least give it a chance, while the other half of me is thinking that I don't want to put another $1 in Tarantino's pocket because I know the film is going to be like all his other turdfests.

I'm so confused. Help me Jimmy, talk some sense into me, PLEASE!

Not what you want to hear, but...

Since we have been talking Oscars in the past days, I have to say that Inglourious Basterds and An Education are the only Best Picture nominations I'm really looking forward to watch. And of those two, only the former seems to be a true Best Picture canditate, while the latter seems to be better suited in the Best Actress category.

I'm not a Tarantino fan btw, as John can attest, but I'm obviously not in Jimmy's camp either.

If it's any consolation, whether you rent IB or not doesn't change anything in QT's pockets. The videostore already paid for the disc. ;)

Antares, you always seem quite blinkered to Tarantino, but otherwise you are an excellent reviewer. Surely you want to see it so you can either be proved right or surprised?  :P

One of my favourite reviews to write was Alien 4. I'd done up to part 3 as part of the horror marathon and I'd pretty much torn that a new one, while still enjoying it. Then these buggers persuaded me to finish off with Alien 4 despite my protests. Still it was a lot of fun tearing it apart. I'm sure you'd have fun with this one!

And then there are several scenes that are so brilliantly constructed it hurts.

It's only 1$, so try it and when you will see it's another bad movie you will not regret to stop it. I've some of his film I got cheap in the past just to see if he was that good and the answer was, except for Reservoir Dog (even if it isn't original at all and a movie patchwork), a big big no...

Probably not the answer you wanted to read, but I want to read your review of this film

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished watching this.

Is that a good OMG or a bad OMG?

Are you old enough to remember Leonard Pinth Garnell?

So are you going to write a review Antares? Becuase if so I'm actually looking forward to it, despite liking IB myself this should be interesting.

I'm going to write one, you can count on that, but it may take me a couple of days. This was the first time I wrote notes for myself while watching a film and the list is pretty long. I should have it done by the weekend.

Jon,

Did you like my use of screenplay dialog to convey my message to Emma?  :tease:
