Usually by now I am pretty much set up for my weekend marathon. But I just can't decide what I want to do this weekend.

Do I want a special theme?

Do I want to work on my unwatched DVD pile?

Do I want to just make it anything goes?

Do I want to watch something in between each movie?

A couple of ideas I was playing around with....

1. Any theme with one of my unwatched serials like last weekend. (hopefully find a serial to match the theme).
2. Vampire movies... with episodes from one of my vampire TV Series in between each movie
3. Any theme (Possibly Superheroes) with the old Superman shorts between each movie

So what you all say? Any ideas for a good theme this weekend and how I should do it?

Chatting with a friend on IM... and we came up with the idea of Horror movies (being this vague I can still watch some unwatched discs) with an episode of Tales from the Darkside between each movie. (she been getting on me about continuing that series) :P

Thoughts?

Why not use the films from the set you've bought for the horror marathon last year with an episode of the Twillight Zone (original serie) between each of them?

Thanks for the suggestion... but unlike you... I definitely need more then that extremely low budget of movies to keep me interested through an entire marathon. Though if I do horror I imagine I would get to a couple from that set.

What super-hero serials do you have?  Are there any you haven't seen yet?  I know you have the two Superman serials, probably both Batman serials and Captain Marvel.  Spy Smasher was originally a comic book series though he's not technically a super-hero.  The Phantom?  I really have no suggestion...you've pretty much reviewed all the movies I've been hoping you would.  I think I've seen reviews of pretty much every super-hero movie ever made from Batman to The Specials.  :P   Do you have any serial that might go with a horror theme?  Drums of Fu Manchu maybe?  Or did you already see that?  I can't think of any Dracula or movie monster serial.

I have seen all my superhero serials. But I have...

- Adventures of Captain Marvel (Watched this one twice already)
- Atom Man vs Superman
- Batman
- Batman and Robin
- The Green Archer
- The Green Hornet (Actually only watched part of this one!)
- The Phantom
- Superman

I could actually watch the Batman or Superman ones again. Oh and you could add 3 more if you consider Zorro a superhero. :P

clicked post too soon

As for horror related serials. I do have Drums of Fu Manchu. I also have Phantom Creeps but not sure it is horror releated though it does have a horror icon in it.

Still can't think of any theme I am really in the mood for. This this weekend will just be no theme at all.

Just one advice, don't try to watch Brainiac this is almost as bad than Kill Syndrome was.

And I'm really really really serious this time. Common I write "really" three times I must be

LOL... will keep that in mind Jimmy!

And ohhh... I just thought of a theme I could do for this weekend where it is different then any I ever done before... and it will be open enough where I could literally watch anything in my collection.

But I don't think I will watch anything in between the movies this weekend. I think I will be too busy watching (hopefully many) movies.  :)

going to get the marathon thread started... you can see there.
