Dragonfire

I do it sometimes.
For the ones I saw in 2009, I saw Star Trek, Up, Terminator Salvation twice.  I think there was one or two others that I don't remember now.

Watched the following multiple times, mostly on account of I'd watched by myself and then a friend decided that they wanted to go and see it.
Batman Begins
Terminator 2
Starship Troopers
Pitch Black
Resident Evil 2
Inglorious Basterds
Sin City x 8ish times

Wow, if I saw something 8 times at the cinema I can only imagine I would not want to see it again after that for a looong time.

Rogmeister

A couple movies I saw too many times.  I saw the original Star Wars 5 times...it didn't do a laot for me the 5th time.  I only went that last time because one friend of mine and I hadn't seen it together yet.  I also saw Blazing Saddles too many times...didn't laugh much the last time.  It was too familiar by that time.

I am a huge fan of Mr Miller's work. Admitedly I haven't watched each of the fourteen dvd copies I own;
Sin City: Recut & Extended - R2UK
4 Histoires de Sin City: Director's Recut - R2FR
Sin City: Edition Limitee - R2FR
Sin City: 2 Disc Special Edition - R2NL
Sin City: Complete Box - R2JPN
Frank Miller's Sin City - R2JPN
Sin City - R3HK(?)
Frank Miller's Sin City: Limited Edition - R3KR
Frank Miller's Sin City: Recut & Extended - R4AUS
Sin City: Recut & Extended - R1US
Sin City - R1(this was the initial releases that came out as an Amaray case with 4 different slipcovers. I have all 4)

There is at least one more version that I don't seem to be able to get a hold of and that is the - Back Alley Poker Set.

Just thought of another that I saw twice at the pictures.

Gamer.

Also, now I have a PS3 and therefore a BluRay player, I HAVE got to get Sin City on Blu. :-\

My Avatar total is now 3 times and I think I will be drawing the line here. I don't want to overdo it, especially for such a long film. But I do admit that I have enjoyed each time as much as the last so far.

I have watched Avatar last week and liked it a lot. It drags in the middle but makes up for it with it's excelent action in the finale.

I actually would like to see it a second time in the cinema, but decidedly in 2D! Maybe this upcoming weekend...

Critter

I saw it all 3 times in 3D and am curious as to why you would want to see it in 2D?

First, because I am curious about what it looks like in 2D

And then of course to get confirmation whether the 3D effect was lulling us into wonder and thinking the film was better than it is or whether it holds up without.

Critter

Interesting idea, if you do end up seeing it in 2D I will be interested in hearing what you think about this. I've watched a lot of the scenes online in HD qaulity, and while they are still beautiful they may not be quite as breathtaking as they are in 3D.

snowcat

I guess the 3D part is the part that makes the film impressive, I went to see Up in 3D and have since watched it in 2D I thought it was still impressive however, my friend at college watched avatar originally in a cinema that is not 3D compatible he was not impressed at all, however when he went to see it in 3D in another cinema he said "It looks amazing, but the story still let it down"

That's the feeling I want to test...

But yeah, basically the story is a little bit of a letdown, in being way too simple. But I guess if you want to appeal to a mass market (and a movie that cost that much money better t´does so!) then you can't be overly difficult...

I have yet to see Avatar, but I know several real people along with you - my internet friends that have seen it.

Of the real people that have seen it only 2 have anything other than gushing positivity for Avatar. One had seen it on a snide copy, so I discount that opinion. The other did watch it at the cinema in 2D and he said, well I can't actually put what he said about it, but suffice to say he was less than complimentary.
