Media type Movies TV Series (Series/Seasons/Volumes) Total
DVD120436 (6/101/3)1327
Bluray0
HD0

I count:
1 movie = 1 number
1 season = 1 number
1 volume = 1 number
1 complete series = 1 number
series split up in multiple boxsets = 1 number for each box

My stats, using goodguy's xslt script.

Note, that I have some 410 Manual profiles in DVD Profiler, on top of that I add every disc in a season and boxset. So, the numbers are at the moment a bit off.

Currently on 348. Don't think I'll be able to change clubs soon. Have been going cold turkey on DVDs since November  :o :o :o :o

Movies: TBD
TV Series (Seasons): TBD (TBD)
Anime Series: TBD

Total: 1908*

  • Don't try adding up the numbers, it won't work (especially since there's no numbers yet!). Here's how I number things (I have to go through my list, I have some titles that don't follow these criterias)
    • 1 movie title = 1 number (Boxsets don't get numbers, the individual movies within do)
    • 1 TV season = 1 numer (i.e. The Sopranos Complete Series set would count as 6 titles)
    • 1 Anime Volume = 1 number (most series come in 6-7 volumes. I should change that to be in line with my TV numbering. 1 series = 1 number)

Same for me. As I number them like that as well I have:
1,208 (102 of which are Blu-ray)

TBH I don't see a system. OK, I see the system that you explained, I just don't see a system that has any use (no offence).

If someone says I number all my purchase items, ok that's a system. If someone says, every season and every movie gets a number, that's a system, too. But volumes, complete series and seasons? Sounds to me like counting cars, trucks, motorcycles and all of their wheels, too, and making one big number out of it.

No offense intended, of course.

My collection number is 743 - from the program.  I that one Hitchcock set that has like 18 movies that I didn't count the movies for.  I have to add the seasons for Angel as well and maybe a few other things I've missed.
I have gotten the profiles for some of the discs for my tv series, but I don't count those individual discs as part of my total.

I count each movie as 1.  The movies in a box set - like my Ultimate James Bond sets - count, but the box sets don't.  A season of a tv series counts as 1 - except for Angel since I still have to add those in.

852.

Everything is counted as one. So things like my Steven Seagal 10 disc set is one and not 10, eve though this 10 keep cases in a cardboard sleeve.

As I said in the other thread... I am up to 1,700... and I count purchases not movies/discs... so whether it is a movie boxset.... a complete series boxset... or a single movie it counts as 1.

Moaa, offended? Naaaa!  ;D
The system I have, have been tailored to my specifications... so it's... well... useful to me...  :P
Actually, I think it was Babylon 5 monster box that made me go from purchased items to the current system. It contain (as you may know) a number of movies, seasons and a complete series which I didn't want to lose track of.

In the other thread you'd have to wait until you reach the big 2k to change vote. Here, you can change vote more frequent :D
I thought this would be more fun! Of course, if someone were to suggest to add a 5000 limit, I would be out of luck!

Interesting indeed! How'd you get those stats? Cuz, I suspect you have a tool or two which let you get those numbers.
