Christmas?  That's kinda a long wait. :(

True, but each episode is essentially a mini-movie so not too bad of a wait. Filming will surely take 6-8 weeks.

Series 4 has been confirmed already by Cumberbatch also.

Series 1 & 2 also played in that time slot and the DVD was released "instantly" after the last episode aired.

Each episode could be a 5-day miniseries.  Doesn't change the fact that it's still 9 months out.  I was hoping for season 3 this Christmas!

I think you know that that was Peter Jackson's fault...

Oh yes, I'm well aware of where the blame lies.  Doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.

I know it's probably blasphemy, but Sherlock > The Hobbit!

I still have to see the second season ..I have 2 of the episodes on my DVR...I forgot and missed the first one.  I want to get the DVD..or Blu-ray.

I did just get the Blu of Ripper Street.  Only $2 more than the DVD so I went with the Blu.

I'd be inclined to agree. The Hobbit is a fun movie, but ultimately I also enjoyed Sherlock more. Except that ending, which I am also waiting to see the resolution for...

Yeah, nothing against The Hobbit.  I'm just not a fantasy person.  I can barely sit through and episode of Game of Thrones.  But I'll watch Sherlock all day long!

Oh, but I also enjoy Game of Thrones quite a bit. It's pretty much a soap, actually  And many people actually refer to to it as Fantasy for people who don't like Fantasy...

It still put me to sleep.  I'm hoping to get caught up tonight so I can continue watching with everyone else.  But that show has always been a chore to watch for me.

I'm glad you said that, Achim. I felt a bit embarrased about not liking GoT, but now I realize that it's because I don't like soaps, and I no longer feel bad about it.  8)

I too am happy there are others that don't like GoT (that doesn't sound quite right but you get the idea).  I tried reading the books but like Dune series, I just couldn't get through it.  And loved other George R.R. Martin works ...

Good i thought, when I heard it was coming out ...  but just can't do it.  After a couple of episodes I never could invest anything in it.  I think it is the machinations ... the many arcs that don't make sense to me.

Oh well, they seem to have a great following.  Must be doing something right :)
Thank you
David
