I am hoping to finish up my Veronica Mars Marathon at some point today... and then I plan on slipping in a movie marathon for the weekend before I start on Dark Angel. :)

Not sure what kind of Movie Marathon I will do yet.

Pffft.. Looks like movie watching just went down the crapper...

I went to Futureshop earlier today, and browsed the Xbox 360 section. Noticed they had receive Blue Dragon.. So I bought that, along with Two Worlds..

;)

Good, maybe you'll stop hijacking my marathon thread then.  :hysterical:

Just kidding Seb, enjoy your new games ;)

Touti

Well the Marathon has started and I just finished watching "Premonition".  I need to reflect on this before writing a review but for now I will say this;

Pete, you're not alone.  :headscratch:

believe me... I am still scratching my head on it as well... I am still hoping maybe it will be understood more on a second viewing. only time will tell... but looking forward to hearing your thoughts once you get them all together. :)

It is definitely worth a 2nd viewing.  We not only move between dreams and reality, we also keep jumping forward and backward in time. The question is, when we see the cop showing up at her door to tell her her husband is dead, are we in reality or in fiction ?

[spoiler]
I think the key to understanding is her calendar. Here's how I understand it.

The scene where we see him dying is real, that's how it happened.  She was going after him, she made him stop and turn the car around on the road and she sees him getting killed BECAUSE OF HER.  That's the key point, she's responsible for his death.  That makes her go nuts, she can't accept this and in her mind she starts thinking that he's not dead, that her witnessing his death is a premonition and that she has to prevent this from happening so everything gets confused in her head and events are re-arranged to make sense to her.

When she begins to realize that things are not in chronological sequence, she starts making the calendar to see what happened when and try to separate fiction from reality.

very interesting take... it makes a lot of sense... I will have to give the movie another try with that in mind. :)

Welcome abord Kneato, nice to see a new face......not that I'm tired of the 'old' ones of course.

The more I think about it, the more I believe my theory makes sense.  There's an interesting question that she asks her mom which I think is a key point.

[spoiler]

At some point in the movie she asks if "Letting him die is the same as killing him".  That's our clue, that's where we sould all have understood what was happening.  She killed him (indirectly but still feels that she did), she know she can't bring him back but cannot bare being responsible for his death so she tries to rearrange things so instead of killing him she 'only' lets him die.  She asks her mom that question because she needs to know that if she makes things as though she let him die, she will no longer be responsible for his death and that, to her, is something she can live with.

Cool! Send me your DVDs now because you won't be able to watch them when you're saying "Now where has my head gone? I was sure it was here a moment ago..."  :chainsaw:
