This is awesome news as well as irritating news... a friend of mine is sending me a box full of DVDs that he don't want no more... problem is... I have to wait for them to get here to know what they are!  :voodoo: He did give me some hints though... there is 9 movies and 3 TV Show boxsets... he said the movies is more for my mother then me... but I should enjoy them too... said they were John Wayne War Movies. The 3 TV Show box sets... is a show that has very good reviews but he just couldn't get into. He bought all 3  sets (complete series) all at once before he knew he didn't care for them.

I looked at his collection (not sure how up to date it is... but found what I think the TV Series might be. but not really sure. I think it is possible that it might be the complete series of Arresting Development. But I guess I will find out once it gets here!  :P

I think even aggravating is too strong. It's free DVD dammit! You should be intrigued

I want Pete's friends to be mine. It's not the first time he gets free DVD ;)

Oooohhh... I LOVE surprises...it's just the suspense I can't stand!
I think your family and friends just like to drive you crazy.
Didn't you go through something similar a while back with a birthday surprise?

Where can I get me a couple of those dvd-giveaway friends? Are they common? Are they real?

Are they real?

You may be on to something. Maybe Pete created imaginary friends to justify buying new DVD.  :tease:

Last night the same friend sent me an email... He is sending me another package!  :yahoo:

This time he listed the movies/shows he is sending me. Here is the email he sent me...

QuotePete,

I will probably be sending you another package soon.  I mentioned at your message board that I did find a few more John Wayne war movies (mainly Flying Tigers and They Were Expendable but there may be one or two others around here) and will send those but I may want to watch Flying Tigers one more time before I send them.  I'll also send that extra copy of Rio Bravo along...the only request I make is that you watch that one pretty soon after you receive it as I'd like to get your reaction to it.  I'll probably also send in a few other items...stuff I'm going to cut out for one reason or another.  One such item is The Cosby Show...I have about 15 discs of it I got via subscription from Columbia House but I won't need those now that the show is coming out in season sets.  I have also some old cheap shows from the 50s and 60s such as The Roy Rogers Show and Buffalo Bill Jr. and Sky King.  Now that I see how much I have, this package may wind up being as big, maybe bigger, as the last one I sent.

I am most excited about the sitcom The Cosby Show.... but I can't find any info on these volumes from Columbia House. Of course since the season sets came out... these are no longer offered. And unfortunately they are not in profiler's database... maybe they did not make the transfer from Intervocative?  I was mostly wondering how many episodes were on each disc.  Going by past experience with Columbia House.... I am guessing 4 episodes each.
