Why thank you. It was well worth getting it built.

That's a stunning set up. Although I must admit I already saw it as I watched your video on youtube about the history of your DVD collection.

I had such nice little categories for my movies and TV shows, such as "comedy" or "sci-fi". But I've run out of space. I can't afford to have an half-empty shelf just because I don't have any more "Hacker" movies.

So I had to return to strictly alphabetical order.  :-\

I've always loved your set up Karsten. Your shelving set up is my ideal way of storing DVD's. Very neat, clean and organised... as well as just plain nice to look at.

Karsten you have an excellent set up, extremly well organised.
No offence but you're definitely German  I'm half German and also super organised.

I am German too, so it's obviously not "every German" :P

Not so organised are you Achim? If so then we have that in common.

I've tried to be organized with my DVDs.  Some of them are fairly well organized.  But since I've run out of space on most of my shelves, I have stacks of DVDs here, there, and everywhere it seems.  And a few stacks of Blu-rays.  I think I might be able to fit another shelf in by the original shelf...now I just have to see if the one store still has them.  I think it is a different color, but I don't really care.  Having another one that size - it is supposed to hold like 500 I think - will really help.  I might even have extra space for a bit again.

I do have my tv show sets on their own shelves and my animated movies on their own shelf.  Everything else is alphabetical.  Well...it is supposed to be alphabetical.

My DVDs are in different locations because of the types of storage(s) that I use. This bugs me because anything else I collected I always kept together. I didn't keep packs of baseball cards in three different rooms, for instance.
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

It bugs me that mine are sort of...scattered around the house too.  I would love to have a room just for shelves for DVDs...heck right now, I'd be happy with a wall of shelves.
