Hi all,

I have a question about TV Series released material only.
Have you ever encountered/read/heard of a disc that, is a "flipper"/has episodes on both sides of the disc?

:thanks:

- Addams Family: Vol. 1-3
- Alien Nation: Complete Series
- American Gothic: Complete Series
- The Bob Newhart Show: Season 1
- Bones: Season 1
- Challenge of the Superfriends (Disc 2 only)
- Dukes of Hazzard: Seasons 1, 2,3, & 6
- ER: Seasons 1-2
- Gilligan's Island: Seasons 1-2
- Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries: Season 1
- Hunter: Season 3
- Knight Rider: Seasons 1-4
- Kolchak: The Night Stalker: Complete Series

- Reba: Seasons 1-4
- Sliders: Season 3

That is 39 sets I have in my collection alone. They are definitely a pain in the butt to handle... but when you have as many as I do you get used to it.

:o   I didn't think it was THAT common! I feel sorry for you guys! Flippers are just :yucky:

From your replies I only go Bones S1 but that is R2 and it doesn't have any disc with episodes on both sides.

Surley, you guys don't have a disc where the episode starts on one side and continues on the other, do you?

Thanks to both for quick replies!

Nope... That I haven't seen yet. But like I said... it is a pain in the ass... but when you get it a lot... you tend to get used to it. Used to handling them at least.  :P

One episode? No. Two-Parters? Yes. But I have that also with single-sided discs.

Well, at least there is that!  :phew:

My major problem with flippers is (the non-touchy-part aside) that they are thicker than normal DVDs.

I was watching Friends and ER on my MacMini which has a slot-loading drive. When I eject them the drive doesn't eject them as far as normal DVDs (I assume due to the thickness) and the center ring remains within the drive. And that means I can't grab it properly without touching the surface.

Just off the top of my head I could add:

Kung-Fu
Oz: Season 4

Achim

Only one I am aware of that I own is "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: The Complete Series"

ninehours

I think the R1 "Outer Limits: The Original Series" are flippers, but thankfully the R2 is not

lyonsden5

Add another one to the list... Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.

And what's the deal with so many TV series that don't have a "Play All" option on the DVD Menu.  :voodoo:

m.cellophane

Alfred Hitchcock Presents: Season 1
The Waltons (all)
Remington Steele (all)
House Season 1 (don't know about the others)

goodguy

Without looking it up in DVDPro, I remember being annoyed by the early West Wing seasons (S1-S3, I think).
