A great list ... do not hear of "The Final Countdown" (for us in the us) or "Deja Vu" .. and don't get me started on "Interstellar" it gets short listed by a lot of people who try to tear it down because of its take on time travel ..

Loved Name of the Rose and Medicine Man ... really just put Sean in a movie and I will watch it.  Even his earlier ones.  Did you see Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

No, I think I have not seen this one (perhaps on TV many years ago, but I do not remember). About Sean's earlier movies, I've seen only "The Longest Day" and "A Night to Remember" but in both cases he had minor roles and I did not consider those movies for this list (In my lists by actor, I consider only movies where the actor has a main role).

You should give Darby O'Gill a try, Yves! I really liked that film. Really impressive use of perspective effects in order to mix full size actors with the little people. And it has Janet Munro! And Sean Connery sings! OK, I'm not sure that last one is a plus, but give it a chance anyway!

Well, I know this one, and also like it, but the choice of ten movies was hard to do, as often.
Not exactly what I call a "earlyish" movie, since after two James Bond, Sean Connery was already a star...

We watched The Name of the Rose this year.  Such a great film!

And I'll echo the rec for Darby O'Gill.  We watch it every other year for St. Patrick's Day (it switches off with The Quiet Man).

I really loved the study of people in "12 Angry Men".  Not must Henry Fonda .. I think he was better in "The Wrong Man" released the year before 12 ... but the interpersonal work was really brilliant with many outstanding performances.
