Christmas Movies
« on: November 25, 2010, 11:54:30 PM »
I know... it is still Thanksgiving... but This is where I start planning on my 25 Days of Christmas marathon next month. Heck my brother starts watching Christmas stuff tonight... and watches it all through December... so he is worse then I am!  :tease:

My Christmas Movie Collection:
- An Angel for Christmas (Animated)
- Black Christmas
- Black Xmas
- A Christmas Story (on the way)
- The Christmas Tree (Animated)
- A Christmas Without Snow
- Don't Open Till Christmas
- Elf (on the way)
- Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer
- Gremlins (on the way)
- Home Alone (on the way)
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas
- It's a Wonderful Life
- Jingle All the Way
- Miracle on 34th Street (original)
- National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (on the way)
- The Nightmare Before Christmas (on the way)
- Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
- The Santa Clause
- The Santa Clause 2
- Scrooge (1935)
- Silent Night, Bloody Night
- A Very Brady Christmas

So that is the list that I have... or have on the way. I don't know if I will be able to buy any this year what with having to give Britt a Christmas this year and all (things are a bit tight)...but just in case I do manage to order one or two... is there any Christmas titles that are must haves I am missing yet?

The only Christmas movies I own are Elf and Fred Claus. I had a bunch in my basket around this time last year, but I never got round to actually buying them. I also have Serendipity but I don't think most people would regard that as an actual Christmas movie, I think I just watch it a lot near Christmas time :P

My Christmas collection is getting so big now that I am considering extending my Christmas marathon some.

My brother starts watching Christmas stuff tonight... and through-out December. I don't know if I want to go that far... but I may need more time to watch all my stuff. Between the list above... and several of the Christmas specials... and then over 100 Christmas episodes of TV Series (Getting those lists together now)... I think I may need more time to fit more in. :P

BTW... what did you think of Elf... that one is being given to me (on the way here now)... I never seen it... but the trailer looks hilarious!

My "Marathon" would be extremely short:

Bad Santa
Die Hard
Hogfather
The Holiday
Love Actually
The Polar Express
Reindeer Games
Scrooged
Surviving Christmas

Not exactly "Christmas", but somewhat fitting:
Groundhog Day

Need my copy for myself, so you won't get it  :tease:

Highly recommended too: Bad Santa, which is still holding the (extremely) inofficial world record for the most excessive use of the word "Funk" in a Christmas movie. (If I recall correctly it was 123 times)

One of my favourite quotes from that movie is, "Thank the fuck Christ"

I think Elf is hilarious!! Especially the first few times watching it! There is one scene
(click to show/hide)
that makes me literally laugh out loud for several minutes  :hysterical:
Also, I haven't seen Bad Santa but have heard it's pretty funny! I'm looking forward to seeing your TV Christmas episode list, think I might make up one of my own :D

I still need to get a copy of Miracle on 34th Street, it's too late to get the edition I want from Amazon so I'll have to go with the local one.

I may get flamed for this... but I absolutely HATED Bad Santa!!!... much to vulgar for my taste... I watched it once and ended up giving it away.
