Larry Crowne, a review by DragonfireI'm going to say right from the start that this one isn't a typical summer big blockbuster type movie. It isn't going to appeal to everyone. The story is fairly simple, but I thought it was sweet and entertaining overall. Some scenes do drag a bit, but that didn't bother me too much overall. Most of the ones that were a little slower and less interesting were scenes in the speech class when they had to do speeches. The fact that the speeches weren't that interesting is believable because I remember not being interested in the speeches when I had to take speech. At least they didn't have to do longer speeches like I did. There is humor in the movie, though it isn't a hilarious comedy. There are a few moments that are really funny. The characters have some issues, especially Mercedes, but again, they seem believable and they end up being likable overall. The cast is great and I do like Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts in their parts. I really like that Larry is interested in a woman close to his age instead of chasing after the ones young enough to be his daughter. I did enjoy this one, but I know it isn't going to appeal to everyone. It just has a sweet, if somewhat simple story. I did get a review posted on Epinions if anyone wants to take a look. Larry Crowne (From Larry Crowne on July 8th, 2011) Tanz der Vampire - Das Musical, a review by Tom
Stars: Kevin Tarte as Graf von Krolock Stefan Poslovski as Prof. Abronsius Max Niemeyer as Alfred Jessica Kessler as Sarah Jerzy Jeszke as Chagal Plot:Extras: My Thoughts: Since seeing this musical live in Stuttgart, I have become a big fan of it. I have listened to the soundtrack (both the original Vienna version and the Vienna revival) countless of times (especially the later one). This DVD is a professional recording of the Hamburg version of the musical. The only professional recording of this musical available. Sadly it was never officially released. I would buy it in a heartbeat. It was produced as a gift to the cast and crew.Rating: (From Tom's Horror Marathon 2012 on October 21st, 2012) Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon, a review by Tom04. Inca Mummy Girl (1997-10-06) Writer: Joss Whedon (Created By), Matt Kiene (Writer), Joe Reinkemeyer (Writer) Director: Ellen S. Pressman Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase), David Boreanaz (Angel), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Kristine Sutherland (Joyce Summers), Ara Celi (Ampada), Seth Green (Oz), Jason Hall (Devon), Hendrik Rosvall (Sven), Joey Crawford (Rodney), Danny Strong (Jonathan), Kristen Winnicki (Gwen), Gil Birmingham (Peru Man), Samuel Jacobs (Peruvian Boy) A rather weak episode. But I like the introduction of Oz and that he takes interest in our Willow. Rating: (From Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon on February 4th, 2009) |
