The Nun, a review by KinkyCyborgI feel a little ashamed that I'm not actively participating in the horror marathon that's taking place here. Not being able to confidently commit the time to watch a decent string of horror movies coupled with my obsessive compulsive need to stick with my viewing system makes it hard for me to put forth a worthy effort. I will try to get a horror movie or two in before the month ends. Title:The Nun Year: 2005 Director: Luis De La Madrid Rating: R Length: 102 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: Spanish Stars:Plot: Years ago, a cruel and merciless nun turned boarding school into a living hell for her students until they could no longer bear the abuse . . . then she mysteriously disappeared. Now the alumnae are being brutally murdered one by one. Feeling a familiar and evil presence, the survivors regroup to save their lives and lay the nun to rest one final time. Extras: Feature Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I didn't mind this at all. Apart from a few moments of terrible acting I thought it was a fresh concept, some original kills, and it held the story together pretty well right through to the end. An average entry in the horror genre but much better than I was expecting. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: Stars: Marc Worden Gwendoline Yeo Rodney Saulsberry Elisa Gabrielli John McCook James Sie Plot:Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Gallery Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This, like every other movie, has its faults. This is my third counted telling of Iron Man's origin, and the worst in my opinion, and that's including the one where they're all teenagers!! Tony's father isn't dead, but arguing with him on how to run the company. Isn't Tony's dedication to letting his father's work live his very motivation for wearing the armor?? And after he built the armor when he was being held captive, he had an entire line of them waiting at his company's building?? Despite this, the Mandarin Ring plot was entertaining as usual, though I myself am not a fan of it. As mentioned in my previous review of Hulk vs. Thor, this type of movie, being mainly based among myths and ancient legends, a person who is interested in this topic, I would highly recommend this to. Don't let my rating fool you, I would recommend it! Just not my taste. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Doing the ABC's Movie Style!! on July 19th, 2010) Firefly Marathon, a review by Tom06. Our Mrs Reynolds Writer: Joss Whedon (Writer) Director: Vondie Curtis Hall Cast: Nathan Fillion (Mal), Gina Torres (Zoe), Alan Tudyk (Wash), Morena Baccarin (Inara), Adam Baldwin (Jayne), Jewel Staite (Kaylee), Sean Maher (Simon), Summer Glau (River), Ron Glass (Shepherd Book), Christina Hendricks (Saffron), Benito Martinez (Boss), Erik Passoja (Bree), Bob Fimiani (Elder Gommen), Alex Stemkovsky (Bandit #1) My favorite Firefly episode. It is just a lot of fun. Like the reaction of the crew of finding out that Mal is married. The teasing. And of course Jayne trying to trade is favorite gun for Saffron. Also Inara insistance of having hit her head to hide the fact she kissed Mal's poisoneous lips. Rating: (From Firefly Marathon on February 27th, 2010) |
