Dustin Hoffman stars with Jessica Lange, Teri Garr, Dabney Coleman, Charles Durning, Bill Murray and Geena Davis in director Sydney Pollack's heart-filled classic that heralded a new era of Hollywood wig-flipping, and set a new standard for unpredictable laugh-out-loud comedy. Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Can you believe this is the first time I ever watched this movie? Dustin Hoffman shows you why he has won Oscars... He has the ability to truly envelope himself in his role. At times you forget he is only pretending to be a woman! The movie is a bit dated but it has truly great and funny moments. I don't think I've ever seen Bill Murray so subdued in ANY movie. Geena Davis is smokin' hot! Two thumbs up! KC Rating: (From KinkyCyborg's Random Reviews 2010 on May 28th, 2010) Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Buck Rogers in the 25th Century Year: 1979 Director: Daniel Haller Rating: NR Length: 89 Min. Video: Full Frame 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Gil Gerard Pamela Hensley Erin Gray Henry Silva Tim O'Connor Plot: In the original theatrical pilot, a mysterious meteor shower in 1987 sends astronaut William "Buck" Rogers and his spacecraft off-orbit. Sent back to Earth by the deceptively beautiful Princess Ardala, Buck must now convince the Earth's Defense Directorate of his true identity and prevent an attack by the alien Draconians whose "peacekeeping" motives on Earth are not so clear. Extras: Scene Access Bonus Trailers My Thoughts: I decided to pop in this movie that started the series when I found out that today (Jan.7th) is Erin Grey's 61st birthday. I always found this to be a fun show when I was a kid. But I haven't seen this show since... and I must admit I was a little worried on how well it would hold up. While watching this today I definitely felt it was dated... and yes a bit on the cheesy side... but even with that said I still found it to be entertaining. I think I will have fun re-watching this series after many long years. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on January 7th, 2011) My Pilot/Finale Episode Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdMy Pilot/Finale Episode Marathon For about the next week I decided to do a Pilot & Finale episode marathon on some of the TV Series that I have every episode of. This will not be in any particular order... just whatever shows the mood hits me for. Adventures of Superman Pilot:: Superman on Earth Recounts Superman's flight from doomed Krypton, being raised by the Kents, his arrival in Metropolis, and getting hired as reporter Clark Kent at the Daily Planet when scooping Lois on Superman's debut. My Thoughts: The first episode of this series decided to start at the very beginning... the destruction of Krypton and Arrival of Superman on Earth. Was definitely a good episode. There was however 1 very big noticeable difference from any other Superman show or movie I ever saw before... for some reason the Kents name is Eban and Sarah Kent instead of the normal Johnathan and Martha. Which is something I found strange but didn't take away from the enjoyment of the show any. Fanale:: All That Glitters What if? After a whack to the head, Jimmy dreams he and Lois has the same powers as the Man of Steel. My Thoughts: This was basically no more then a fun episode. I definitely enjoyed seeing Jimmy and Lois with Superman's powers. It kinda gave me a chuckle. The finale of this series was no different then any other episode... leading me to believe that when it aired they most likely didn't realize the 6th season would be the series last. though who knows for sure... what with the age of this series... they could have done things differently back then.
