Over the Top, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Sylvester Stallone as Lincoln Hawk Robert Loggia as Jason Cutler Susan Blakely as Christina Hawk Rick Zumwalt as Bob "Bull" Hurley David Mendenhall as Michael Cutler Plot:Extras:
My Thoughts: I haven't seen this one since it came out in the mid '80s. All I remembered was the basic story line and that I liked it. Reliving it today (30 yrs later!!!) I must say I still enjoyed it... but wasn't as good as I remembered it being. I found it to be a bit predictable and found some of the characters to be a bit "over the top"... but there is definitely worse ways to waste an hour and a half. Rating: (From Within My Lifetime: 2017 Edition on January 27th, 2017) Alvin and the Chipmunks meet the Wolfman, a review by addicted2comicsAlvin and the Chipmunks meet the Wolfman The Plot: Alvin is struggling with nightmares of werewolves. Alvin believes that the new next-door neighbor Mr. Talbot is a werewolf. Of course, no one believes him. Meanwhile, the boys are working on the school production of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. When Alvin blows up the school auditorium, he is expelled from the production. Theodore is put in to rise his lack of confidence. Alvin and Simon are trying to discover the secret of Mr. Talbot. Will the play go as planned or will the Chipmunks mess it up?! And is Mr. Talbot a werewolf? My Thoughts: Wow, this brings back memories. I watched this every Halloween on Cartoon Network (before the channel went lame) and recorded iot on VHS, a tape I no longer had till dad picked up the double-feature DVD for me! I just have to say, dear old dad didn't like it as much, what with the mjusic, but, c'mon!! The music was rockin!!! Still, I wish they focused more on Lawrence Talbot, and not Theodore, but it still a fun family, comedic horror cartoon!! My Rating: Out of 5 (From Addicted2comics(:P)'s Official Review Thread!!! on October 9th, 2010) My PILOT Marathon, a review by RichFRIENDS - SEASON 1 - PILOT First aired: 9/22/1994 This is the one where it all began... Rachel leaves Barry at the altar, meets the gang, and moves in with Monica. Monica, meanwhile, sleeps with Paul the Wine Guy, and Ross is reeling from his divorce from Carol, who has become a lesbian. Great to go back after all these years to see where it all began. The show did not stray too far from the format of this first episode, and the characters matured with all 10 series. The jokes in this pilot are ok and the acting average, but the chemistry is perfect and indicates why this became such a monster hit series. (From My PILOT Marathon on May 17th, 2008) |
