The Bourne Ultimatum, a review by DJ Doena

:redcard:
You are making me want to watch the Bourne Trilogy - again!!

 :tease:

Synopsis: Six weeks after the events in Berlin and Moscow Jason tries again to find out who he really is and where he came from. But there are still high-ranking CIA officers who can't let that happen, because it would endanger a number of secret and illegal operations. So once again they send out killers to stop him and everyone he comes in contact with, even other CIA personnel. Luckily for him, he's not the only one who wants to find out the truth.

My Opinion: This time they overdid it with the shaky cam. The fight between Desh and Bourne was nearly unfollowable, and even in the quiet scenes when Jason was talking to Marie's brother or to Nicky it appeared as if the cameraman had Parkinson's.
But I still thought that it was a good conclusion to the story, especially with Bourne choosing not to kill one of his assassins when he was helpless and getting rewarded for it in the end. I also like the final scene which made the imagery becoming full circle with the first scene in Identity.
If it were for me, I'd like to see another Bourne movie.

The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer, a review by Danae Cassandra

The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer
Year of Release: 2003
Directed By: Craig R. Baxley
Starring: Lisa Brenner, Steven Brand, Kate Burton, Tsidii Leloka
Genre: Horror

Overview:
A prequel to the hit Stephen King's Rose Red, The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer unveils a story of the twisted marriage of a matriarch to a promiscuous early 20th-Century industrialist and the haunted beginnings of an enormous Seattle mansion that has come to life.

Passages of the diary track a series of deadly encounters surrounding the Rose Red estate that transform Ellen from the innocent and submissive wife into a woman possessed by the dark forces inhabiting her home.

My Thoughts:
For a prequel to a movie that doesn't answer many of the viewer's questions, this movie only leaves you with more.  Nothing is offered up about the nature of the house, it's mysterious disappearances and hauntings.  while that works in "Rose Red" it distinctly does not work for a prequel about the house and its ghosts.  Vague mentions are made of 'cursed ground' and we learn that the house was moved over from Europe, but that's it.  The film is quite handsome in it's sets and costumes, and has a nice atmosphere to it, but there's no suspense.  Instead it's really the story of a philanderer, his marriage, and the wife who must suffer him.  Ellen comes off much too innocent and victimized here - she needed much more depth, as did her friend Sukeena and their relationship.  About average for a film, recommended only if you really, really liked "Rose Red."

Bechdel Test: Pass, barely

Overall: 2.5/5

Grey's Anatomy Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Season 4 Disc 4:

13. Piece Of My Heart
Addison makes her return to Seattle Grace in order to perform an operation. As she does so, she is preoccupied by all of the changes in her former co-workers' lives. Meanwhile, Meredith and Derek's clinical trial has its first patient, and Rebecca returns to deliver Alex some shocking news.

My Thoughts:
Another really good episode... though not quite as good as the previous disc. I enjoyed seeing Addison back on the show. I also liked seeing Izzie getting back to her old self some.

My Rating:

14. The Becoming
The nurses' outcry over McSteamy's frequent trysts leads the hospital to enact a new "date and tell" policy. Meanwhile, news about Burke's career force Cristina to cope with her feelings about the past; Meredith and Derek take in a veteran soldier to participate in their clinical trial; and Callie finds comfort in Sloane when she needs it the most.

My Thoughts:
This one I didn't care much for at all. Not much really happened. And I found it slightly on the boring side.

My Rating:

15. Losing My Mind
As Dr. Wyatt refuses to let Meredith give up on her therapy sessons, Alex learns the truth about Rebecca's condition. Chief Webber has Dr. Hahn perform a high-risk surgery on his mentor. Meanwhile, after hearing about Burke, Cristina continues to act unusually, going as far as to clean her ever-messy apartment.

My Thoughts:
A pretty good episode... but I must admit that I am getting a bit tired of the whole case study thing. A bit tired of seeing the same operation for each episode for the past 3 or 4 episodes. And I just couldn't care about the big shot heart surgeon that needed heart surgery.

My Rating:
