A Page of Madness, a review by Antares

A Page of Madness (1926) 65/100 - This must have been a hell of an experience to view in 1926. Some truly amazing camera work, but without the use of a Benshi narration, it's just a series of rapid fire edits with no narrative. As I was watching I thought of someone with a deck of cards, rifling through them with one finger and they all had pictures of insane people on them.

Teal = Masterpiece
Dark Green = Classic or someday will be
Lime Green = A good, entertaining film
Orange = Average
Red = Cinemuck
Brown = The color of crap, which this film is

My Thoughts:
My first Bollywood movie. I have bought it, after I came across it when looking for superhero movies I haven't seen yet. Clocking in three hours, it could have been much shorter with the same story. But I feel that seems to be the Bollywood charm to move the story along a little slower. I didn't mind. I also didn't mind the typical song-and-dance interludes, for which Bollywood is famous for. Though I enjoyed it, I won't jump on the Bollywood band wagon just yet, but I will get myself the movie to which this is the sequel to.
This is the first time I watched a movie in Hindi. I knew, that English is spoken very much in India. But I still found it strange, how they constantly switched between English and Hindi. Often even during a sentence.

Here the trailer:

For fans for fun superhero movies, I can recommend checking this out. Tthough the first hour borders on strange. Too much "puppy eyeing" his love interest. But when he got to the big city (Singapure), it is more like superhero movie like you would expect. Pete would have to fast forward in four scenes though :laugh:
I would say, about 10-15 minutes out of 170 minutes are song and dance.

Here an example of one of the dance songs. They are used to further the love story. I expected to cringe at them, but for some reason I had a smile on my face during those :laugh:

The star of this movie played two characters: The hero and the hero's father in flashbacks. He did a good job in playing two different characters. The father is the main protagonist of the first movie, and after seeing him here, I got interested to check out the first movie.

Angel Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Disc 4

Expecting
Synopsis: Cordelia finally finds the time to go out again. She meets with a nice young guy in a bar and she invites him home. But when she wakes up the next morning, she is alone again - and pregnant in the ninth month.

My Opinion: I like it that they didn't forget about the ghost in Cordelia's apartment. And the OB/GYN won't forget their visit for quite some time.

She
Synopsis: Angel runs across a woman from another dimension who brings refugees from her into our dimension. But she is being hunted and they come closer.

My Opinion: This was a rather serious episode in comparison to the ones we've yet seen - even in comparison to the episode where Doyle died. It was a good change to the usual routine.

I'be Got You Under My Skin
Synopsis: After Cordelia got a vision, Angel saves a small boy from being hit by a car in the middle of the night. But then he has to realize that someone in that boy's family is possessed by an Ethros demon. Thus he has to find a priest who will do an exorcism.

My Opinion: Nice plot twist at the and of the episode. That was a bit unexpected.

The Prodigal
Synopsis: Kate's father is involved in some illegal smuggling but he doesn't know what he's gotten into. We also learn a lot about the time when Angel was still human and how he became a vampire.

My Opinion: The now-time was a standard-demon-kill-episode. But the flashbacks were interesting. We know some of his past from "Buffy" but this far back.
