Spider-Man, a review by DJ DoenaJune, 17th Tobey Maguire ... Spider-Man / Peter Parker Willem Dafoe ... Green Goblin / Norman Osborn Kirsten Dunst ... Mary Jane Watson James Franco ... Harry Osborn Cliff Robertson ... Ben Parker Rosemary Harris ... May Parker J.K. Simmons ... J. Jonah Jameson Ted Raimi ... Hoffman Bruce Campbell ... Ring Announcer Synopsis: Peter Parker is a young high school student when he's bitten by a genetically enhanced spider at a research facility. His DNA is rewritten and he becomes stronger, faster, he can climb walls and shoot spider threads from his wrists. After he has made a terrible mistake that cost his uncle his life he decides to use his new powers to help people: He becomes Spider-Man. But where there's a hero, there's a villain: The Green Goblin. My Opinion: I love this movie, it's great. All the actors did a marvellous job, especially Tobey and Willem - I loved Willem Dafoe in the scenes where he "talked" to the Goblin and I really liked this bitter ending where he (Peter) has to decide to stay alone in order to not endanger the people he loves and cares for. "Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: 'With great power comes great responsibility.' This is my gift. My curse. Who am I? I am Spider-Man!". *awesome* (From DJ Doena's movie watchings 2009 on June 19th, 2009) Vamp, a review by addicted2dvdWeekend Movie Marathon Vampires This weekend I had a strong urge to watch some of my vampire movies. Even though I watched several vampire movies during my October marathon... but this is the first marathon I have devoted to vampires in almost a year (last one was February '08). As I am sure most people here know vampire movies is my favorite horror sub-genre. I have enjoyed them since I first started watching horror when I was a kid. So this weekend I decided to watch... Vamp My Thoughts: I thought I would start things out with a guilty pleasure type movie. It is not what I would call a great movie by any means... but it is definitely a lot of fun. It has a good mixture of comedy and horror. Though it is over the top at times. At first I wasn't sure what I thought of Grace Jones as the Vampire Katrina... but she did fine in this movie... and definitely brought something to the role. Over-all this is just a leave your brain at the door pop-corn flick type of movie. One that I just enjoy every second of once in a while. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Vampires on January 23rd, 2009) Tom's TV Finales marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: In this Emmy-winning comedy's hilarious third season, Michael Bluth finally realizes that it's his Uncle Oscar serving time in prison, not his father. Reluctant to spring Oscar due to the effect it may have on the family business, Michael decides that the only fair thing to do is to find his father and place him under house arrest. Yet once found, George Sr. insists he was tricked into working with the Iraqis, leaving Michael no choice but to investigate his father's outrageous claim. But it isn't until Michael and Buster go to Iraq on a rescue mission to save Gob that the depth of the devious plot is revealed-and Michael learns which family member is the real brains behind all the madness.
