If she can't, she will be stuck in an insane loop, reliving a ghoulish nightmare that has become her death day.

My Thoughts:

This film was a pleasant surprise for me. While I have always liked time loop movies (Groundhog Day, etc.) I was a little nervous about this one going just by the trailer. After watching it I found that I liked the characters, the storyline kept my interest and last but not least they killed her off in some creative ways. I can easily see myself watching this one again. Definitely feel coffinite recommending this one.

Shrek the Third, a review by RossRoy

Shrek the Third

Original Title: Shrek the Third
Year: 2007
Country: United States
Director: Chris Miller
Rating: G
Length: 93 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, English: Dolby Digital Surround, French: Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital Surround
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

What they say
Get ready for Thirds -- the greatest fairy tale never told continues with a whole new hilarious comedy of royal proportions. When his frog-in-law suddenly croaks, Shrek embarks on another whirlwind adventure with Donkey and Puss In Boots to find the rightful heir to the throne. Everyone's favourite cast of characters is back, along with a magical misguided Merlin, an awkward Arthur, a powerful posse of princesses, and a bundle of unexpected arrivals. Only Shrek can tell a tale where everyone lives happily ever laughter!

My Thoughts
Here's a movie from which I had seen bits and pieces, here and there, because it's one of the niece's favourite movie. But I never sat down to watch it, straight through, from beginning to end. Until now.

Well, I don't know if it's the novelty of kind of perversing the traditional fairy tales that is wearing off or what, but I found this installment lacking, as opposed to the first two. Shrek 1 and 2 rank among my most favouritest animated movies, but this third one is lacking something. And you know what, I think it's because we've seen it all before. It felt like a retelling of Part 1, but with Arthur switched out for Fiona. I mean, it is again Shrek sets out to find someone, comes back, gets double crossed, fights to regain what he's lost, wins the fight, and lives happily ever after. Rinse, lather, repeat, yawn! Next!

That's not to say it is all bad though. There are a few good flashes here and there. I like the final fight too. But the freshness of it has worn out. Guess it's time Dreamworks moved on to another franchise. They've milked Shrek for all its worth.

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series (2003/United States)
IMDb | Wikipedia

Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment (United States)
Length:278 min.
Video:Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78
Audio:English: Dolby Digital 5.1, English: DTS 5.1, Commentary: Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround
Subtitles:Trivia

Plot:
The coolest Spider-Man comes to DVD in 3-D animation! Combining state-of-the-art CG imaging with feature animation processing, Spider-Man brings a neon-lit city to life.

Based on the legendary Mavel comic book, the series centers on the adventures of Peter Parker, who develops superhuman powers after being bit by a genetically altered spider. Multi-talented Neil Patrick Harris (Undercover Brother, Starship Troopers), singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb and television star Ian Ziering (TV's "Beverly Hills 90210") bring Peter, MJ, and Harry to life, along with guest voice talent from rocker Rob Zombie, rap star Eve, Gina Gershon, Kathy Griffin, Michael Clarke Duncan, Stan Lee and more.

Major comic book, animation, and television talent came together to bring Spider-Man to life on the small screen. Brian Michael Bendis (Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series) worked as Co-Executive producer, along with Audu Paden (Roughnecks: Starship Toopers Chronicles). Serving as the series' Executive Producers were Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee, Margan Gendel, and Marvel executives Avi Arad and Rick Ungar.

Spider-Man: The New Animated Series
1.01 Heroes and Villains (2003-08-22)

Director:
Cast: Starring), Neil Patrick Harris (Peter Parker/Spider-Man (voice)), Lisa Loeb (Mary Jane Watson (voice)), Ian Ziering (Harry Osborn (voice)), Also Starring), Ethan Embry (Max Dillon/Electro (voice)), Jeff Fischer (Doug Reisman (voice)), Jennifer Hale (Female News Announcer (voice)), Julie Nathanson (Sally Johnson (voice)), David Newsom (Gary (voice)), Rino Romano (Doug's friend (voice)), Cree Summers (Professor Williams (voice))

I bought this series years ago, but never got past the first few episodes. I just didn't like the animation style. Besides that, the first episode had potential. I may give this series another chance.
It seems to loosely follow the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie.
