The Brave One, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: The Brave One Year: 2007 Director: Neil Jordan Rating: R Length: 122 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.40:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Jodie Foster Terrence Howard Nicky Katt Naveen Andrews Mary Steenburgen Ene Oloja Plot: "Why don't they stop me?"The Brave OneThe Accused (1988) and The Silence of the LambsHustle & Flow (2005). Extras: Scene Access Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is one I first saw on On-Demand. I enjoyed it so much at the time that I knew it wouldn't be long for me to get the DVD. The Brave One is one of the best revenge/vigilante movies I have seen in quite a while. Jodie Foster does a wonderful job in this movie. While it is very enjoyable... it is not perfect. There is some slow parts throughout the movie. And I have caught myself more then once looking at the clock. But I think these moments are important to the story as well. Other then Jodie Foster... this movie has Mary Steenburgen who I watched all the time on Joan of Arcadia... where she played Joan's mother. The Brave One is definitely worth giving a chance. Though I do wish they would have given this one a better DVD Release. There really is very little when it comes to extras for this one. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on June 18th, 2010) Footloose (1984), a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Kevin Bacon as Ren Lori Singer as Ariel John Lithgow as Rev. Shaw Moore Dianne Wiest as Vi Moore Christopher Penn as Willard Plot: Footloose jumps with spirit, dazzling dance numbers and an electrifying musical score. It portrays the timeless struggle between innocent pleasure and rigid morality, when city-boy Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon) finds himself in an uptight Midwestern town where dancing has been banned. Ren revolts with best friend Willard (Chris Penn) and the minister's daughter (Lori Singer). Features a treasury of Top 10 songs - Kenny Loggins' "Footloose," Shalamar's "Dancing In The Sheets," Deniece Williams' "Let's Hear It For The Boy," Bonnie Tyler's "Holding Out For A Hero," and the Footloose love theme, "Almost Paradise." Extras:
My Thoughts: This is one I have watched on several occasions with Dawn. It is a fun movie. I enjoyed every minute of it. The entire cast did a great job. I even liked John Lithgow as the reverend....and I normally don't care for him at all. This is one I feel comfortable recommending to everyone. Well worth the time put in to watch it. Rating: (From July Movie Marathon: Musicals (Yes... You read right!) on July 15th, 2016) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: The Complete First Season marathon, a review by Tom07. The Demon Hand (2008-02-25) Writer: Josh Friedman (Created By), Toni Graphia (Writer), James Cameron (Original Characters By), Gale Anne Hurd (Original Characters By) Director: Charles Beeson Cast: Lena Headey (Sarah Connor), Thomas Dekker (John Connor), Summer Glau (Cameron), Richard T. Jones (Agent James Ellison), Mark Ivanir (Dmitri Shipkov), Angela Gots (Maria), Traber Burns (Chief of Staff), Brian Austin Green (Derek Reese), Bruce Davison (Dr. Peter Silberman), Mark Bloom (FBI Evidence Clerk), Ron Butler (Social Worker), Alex Veadov (Russian Man) I like it when they are referencing events of the movies. I think Derek is a good addition to the cast. But I don't think it was a good choice to have Cameron ballet dancing. Only because the actress is a ballet dancer doesn't mean you have to incorporate it into the story.
