The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a review by DVDsRGreat

Title: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Overview:
A hunter, a scientist, a vampire, an invisible man, an immortal, a spy, a beast... when a masked madman known as "The Fantom" threatens to launch global Armageddon, legendary adventurer Allan Quatermain commands a legion of superheroes, the like of which mankind has never seen.  Now, despite fighting their own personal demons - and each other - they must join forces to save the world.

My Thoughts
I really enjoyed this one. Hadn't watched it before. I liked how they had brought together so many characters like the Invisible Man, Dr. Jeykll and Mr. Hyde, Allan Quartarmain from various literature and even character's out of 20,000 Leagues under the sea and the Adventure of Sherlock Holmes. The pace of the movie was nice and the special effects were pretty good too. All in all a pretty good feature.

Silver Bullet, a review by Danae Cassandra

Silver Bullet
Year of Release: 1985
Directed By: Daniel Attias
Starring: Gary Busey, Everett McGill, Corey Haim, Megan Follows
Genre: Horror

Overview:My Thoughts:
This was a pretty good werewolf movie. It lacks any backstory on the werewolf, and I liked that about the film. It makes the werewolf this immensely threatening supernatural monster, an inhuman creature rather than a tortured soul. He's mad, bad and dangerous and must be put down.

King doing the screenplay means this is more than just a monster story. It's a story of the town and folks in it. Corey Haim is really good in his role, especially in holding true to the physical limitations of it. The girl who played his sister is pretty good too, and their interactions have a certain authenticity to siblings of that age. I love Gary Busey as their drunk, loser uncle who seems really cool when you don't know any better. And of course, I love the wheelchair. Everyone loves the wheelchair. I think the narration wasn't needed. That's a device I thought worked better for Stand By Me than it does here. Small quibbles aside, this was still quite good and I'd recommend it if you're looking for a werewolf film.

Doctor Who Marathon, a review by Tom

Doctor Who
Series 1.07 The Long Game
Writer: Russell T Davies (Writer)
Director: Brian Grant
Cast: Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), Billie Piper (Rose Tyler), Bruno Langley (Adam), Colin Prockter (Head Chef), Christine Adams (Cathica), Anna Maxwell Martin (Suki), Simon Pegg (The Editor), Tamsin Greig (Nurse), Judy Holt (Adam's Mum)

An okay episode. A fun episode, but nothing really special. But it has Simon Pegg as a guest star, which is a plus.
Nice about this episode is, that it deals with the premise of a misguided companion for the doctor. One who tries to take advantage of the information he gathers from the future. Because of this, it is the first and also the last episode for Adam as a companion to the doctor.
