Defendor, a review by TomTitle: Defendor Links: IMDb | Wikipedia
Stars: Woody Harrelson as Arthur Poppington/Defendor Elias Koteas as Dooney Michael Kelly as Paul Carter Sandra Oh as Dr. Ellen Park Kat Dennings as Kat Debrofkowitz Plot:Extras: Bonus Trailers Commentary Deleted Scenes Featurettes Outtakes Scene Access My Thoughts: Woody Harrelson did a good job as a slightly deranged guy who takes it up to himself to fight a crime boss by dressing up in a self-made superhero costume with some self-made gadgets. You could say this is an adult version of the Kick-Ass character. Only this time there are no other superheroes with real fighting skills around. This movie is not a spoof, but a dark comedy/drama.Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on August 28th, 2010) Cave Girl, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Cave Girl Year: 1985 Director: David Oliver Rating: R Length: 81 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Mono Subtitles: N/A Stars: Daniel Roebuck Cindy Ann Thompson Darren Young Saba Moore Jeff Chayette Charles Mitchell Plot: In search of the "perfect" woman, a bumbling anthropology student accidently travels back in time, 25,000 years, and meets his dream woman...a beautiful cavegirl. But she quickly makes it clear he must use all of his modern day wiles if he is to win her love. Extras: Scene Access My Thoughts: Next I felt like something fun and silly... so thought what better then an old '80s comedy? This movie I got in a cheap boxset... Too Cool For School Collection. It is one I never seen before... and one I really wasn't expecting much of anything from. And basically what I got is a movie that had a few chuckle... a bit of T&A... and just some silly and fun times. Just something you can sit back and watch... not having to think much about. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on June 18th, 2010) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: He thought he was dead. The last thing Kei remembers is the train running over his body. But now he is in a room filled with strangers, all resurrected by a strange, black sphere known only as the Gantz. Caught in a strange realm between life and death, Kei and the others must undertake brutal missions that the Gantz assigns. Otherwise, none of them will live long enough to leave the room. Of course I was interested to see the anime adaption. So far it looks good. I have heard that the first season is great, but the general opinion on the second season is not so good. I am curious to see the rest, so I will probably finish off this set before continuing with this marathon. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on June 21st, 2011) |
