Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol, a review by Dragonfire

Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol
Sign up for more manic misadventure with the buffoons in blue, this time featuring rising stars Sharon Stone as a reporter who strikes sparks with Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg) and David Spade as a loopy skateboarder.

Cmdt. Lassard (George Gaynes) decides to toughen up neighborhood watch groups by training them to be Citizens on Patrol, or COPs. And guess who the instructors are? The same grads who thought the Fs on their own report card meant "Fantastic." When rival officer Lt. Harris (G.W. Bailey) sees the blue leading the beleaguered, he decides the time is ripe to discredit the Academy. But leave it to our hapless heroes to save the day - bumblingly - by taking to the skies on biplanes and balloons for a frantic finale. All aboard!

Yes I know this is hugely silly...and far from the best of the movies.  However, I still enjoy it.  The plot is ridiculous and rather weak.  This is my least favorite of the movies...of the ones I've seen.  I haven't seen the one where they go to Moscow.  This is the last one that Steve Guttenburg was in.  It is also the last time Bobcat Goldwaith is in one of the movies too.  He is really annoying and his character really gets on my nerves.  The comedy is very silly, and even stupid at times.  The characters are pretty much the same as they have been for the returning characters and the new characters are flat and not that developed.  Sharon Stone's character just sort of shows up and doesn't do much.  It is clear she is supposed to be a love interest for Mahoney, but that really doesn't go anywhere.

Despite all the issues, I still manage to enjoy this one overall.

I would have gone with 2.5 stars at Epinions if I had the option.  Since I didn't, I decided to round up to 3.

Dead Teenagers, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Dead Teenagers
Movie Count:  5
TV Ep. Count:  1
Other Count:  1
Time Started:  6:20pm

Plot:
On a dark autumn eve, a college student finds a mysterious book in his campus library. Within it's pages he finds four gruesome tales of ghosts, werewolves, vampires and the unknown.

My Thoughts:
This is another movie that was included in the Mortuary of Madness: 50 Movies boxset. So of course I am going into this one with no expectations at all. When I first bought this set... a friend of mine said to me that with the price it cost me... if I enjoy just one movie in the set... that the set will be worth the price of purchase. Well... it is worth it! This movie is an Anthology. It has 4 stories in the one movie. The wrap around story pretty much sucked. Basically non-existent as it was no more then a guy finding a hand-written book in the library and he was reading the stories that someone wrote in the notebook. The first story I didn't care for at all really. It was more confusing then anything. I still not sure what it was I watched to be honest. By this time I was thinking another looser of a movie. Then it went back to the guy reading the book in the library... he turns the page and you see the title and a drawing of a werewolf.  I like werewolves so I decided to continue to watch. Now this story... while it took a few minutes.. it just grabbed me. I found myself enjoying this movie... I thought cool! The third story is a ghost story. Now this one I really loved! I was actually glued to the TV off one of these movies!?!? What a pleasant surprise. The fourth and final story in this anthology is a vampire story. This one I didn't care as much for as I did stories numbers 2 & 3... but it is definitely quite a bit better then the first one.

The movie itself actually has a feel of a student movie. Definitely low budget... the acting is fair at best... and the effects are almost non-existent. But the stories... these stories are more then enjoyable... they were definitely well done. Well...except for the first one and the wrap around anyway. I am really pleasantly surprised to be able to give this movie such a high rating (Probably too high of a rating). Especially considering that the acting and the effects both need help. But for me at least... the writer(s) made this film. So much so that you really don't care about the downfalls of the movie.

My Rating
Out of a Possible 5

Bewitched: The First Three Episodes From the First Season (1964/United States)
IMDb | Wikipedia

(United States)
Length:76 min.
Video:Full Frame 1.33:1
Audio:English: Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
Subtitles:

Plot:Bewitched
1.01 I, Darrin, Take This Witch, Samantha
Writer: Sol Saks (Writer)
Director: William Asher
Cast: Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha), Dick York (Darrin Stephens), Agnes Moorehead (Endora), Gene Blakely (Dave), Lindsay Workman (Doctor), Paul Barselow (Bartender), Nancy Kovack (Sheila)

I only have the first three episodes of this series. They were part of a special bundled release of the Will Ferrell "Bewitched" movie. I always more of a fan of Jeannie than Bewitched. So I never really followed this series.
I think it is unreasonable that Darrin asks his wife to never do magic even if they are alone.
This release is a colorized version. I first didn't notice this, until I wondered if the green eyes are Elizabeth Montgomery's natural eye color. Then I saw that the first two seasons were originally black and white. So it could very well have been a side-effect of the colorization process. Otherwise everything looked good considering.
