Ghostbusters, a review by addicted2dvd

Ghostbusters
Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis star in this supernatural comedy classic that will have you howling! When the University downsizes the para-psychology department, Doctors Venkman (Murray), Stantz (Aykroyd) and Spengler (Ramis) make the leap from scientists to Ghostbusters, investigators and exterminators of paranormal pests! The bewitching Dana Barett (Sigourney Weaver) discovers her refrigerator has become a portal into the spiritual dimension, our heroes then come face to face with an ancient evil force with plans to raise hell in Manhattan!!

My Thoughts:
After my daughter just getting the new Ghostbusters Wii Game... and playing that with her for a little while... I found myself in the mood to watch this movie again. When I grabbed this DVD the realization that this movie is 25 years old now hit me... Wow! Do I feel old now! It has been a while since I seen this (6 years now)... I actually forgot how much I enjoyed this movie! This movie is full of fun and laughs. I thought everyone did a very good job in this one. And this collector's edition DVD that I watched is loaded with great extras for hours of fun. It is a great movie and great DVD release.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

My Thoughts:
Brittany and I watched this one this evening. This one is hard to review and describe. I enjoyed the movie... but it is on the weird and strange side. It really is a pretty dark and twisted story. I don't mean that as a bad thing though. The animation is very well done. The characters are well done. Definitely an entertaining watch.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Plot:
Mike McNeil (Denis Leary) is a self-medicating, hard-drinking, decorated New York City detective with a wife, a mistress, and a crush on a co-worker. Surrounded by a partner and fellow squad members who are just as colorful, McNeil pursues his uniquely unconventional, yet effective, approach to crime solving while he attempts to manage the chaos of his personal life.

Originally broadcast on ABC in 2001 and 2002, The Job was shot entirely on location in New York City, giving the look of the show a grit to match its humor.

Bougere (Kaleel Ojala), Gammy L. Singer (Kaleel's Grandmother), Dyron Holmes (Ironsides), Jimmy Burke (Bike Cop), Shiro Oishi (Mr. Ahira)

Denis Leary playing Denis Leary the cop. The pilot episode was okay. I last watched this series in 2005 when I first got it. Seems like I did give it a good rating in DVD Profiler.
Of what I have read this series is similar to the one he did later on: Rescue Me.
