Wes Craven's New Nightmare, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Wes Craven's New Nightmare
Movie Count: 21
TV Ep Count: 5
Time Started: 8:30am
Plot:
Writer-director Wes Craven ('Scream', 'Scream 2') returns to the darkest shadows of Elm Street with "the cleverest, wittiest, most twisted scarefest in ages!" (Peter Travers, 'Rolling Stone').

Winner of a Golden Scroll of Outstanding Achievement from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror, this spinetingling tale reunites original Nightmare stars Robert Englund, Heather Lagenkamp and John Saxon as "reel" Freddy invades the real world with deadly results.

Life imitated art during filming. Soon after shooting an earthquake sequence, the "Northridge Quake" shook Los Angeles. Says Craven, "We were about to have rubble created for the movie, but instead, we were able to just go out and film from the streets." But don't worry, Freddy fans. It's only a movie...or is it?

My Thoughts:
Another really good installment to the "Nightmare" series. This time a very different installment... as it was able to reunite a lot of the original cast.  I thought it was a very interesting idea... and even though I enjoyed them...  I find that this one I really have to be in the mood for to watch. I guess what I mean is it is different in a good way... but I have to be in the mood for said different to watch it. Luckily I was in the mood this morning!

Three Stooges: Restless Knights, a review by addicted2dvd

The Three Stooges: Restless Knights
Set in Medieval times, the stooges learn they are of royal blood and vow to save the kingdom.

My Thoughts:
This one I found to be pretty average. The setting was only ok with this one... and found that the mixture of old English and modern to be a bit distracting.

My Rating:

The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Leverage

What's the show about?
Black King? White Knight? Nate is a former insurance investigator but now he works with a thief (Parker), a hacker (Hardison), a hitter (Eliot) and a grifter (Sophie) to help people the normal law can't or won't help. Nate is a master at Xanatos Speed Chess and he uses this ability to outmanoeuvre his opponents and get what he wants.

"The Nigerian Job"
The CEO of an airplane manufacturer hires Nate to be the boss of a gang of thieves to steal back blueprints that were stolen from him. But he has played them all and tries to get them killed. Now Nate is turning the tables. He hires a new face and old "friend" of his, Sophie, and together they are getting the prints back and the CEO in trouble.

My Opinion
It's a worthy successor of the 80's A-Team and basically as unrealistic - which didn't matter then and doesn't matter now. Back then B.A. welded some steel together and built some form of tank, today Hardison is manipulating any electronic device to get hoodwink the bad guy. The characters are funny to watch and two of them (Nate and Sophie) have an even more personal connection.
