Return to Me, a review by addicted2dvd

Title: Return to Me
Year: 2000
Director: Bonnie Hunt
Rating: PG
Length: 116 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

Stars:
David Duchovny
Minnie Driver
Carroll O'Connor
Robert Loggia
Bonnie Hunt
David Alan Grier

Plot:
Who knew that when he ordered the special, he'd get the dish of his life? David Duchovny ("The 'X'-Files") and Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) ignite sparks in this "warm-hearted winner" (Jeff Craig, Sixty Second Preview) about a widower and a waitress who meet and fall in love. Featuring an incredible all-star cast, this hilarious romantic comedy delivers a lot of laughs, tears and joys that will make your spirits soar.

It took a lot of coaxing to get Bob (Duchovny), a recently widowed architect, to go on a blind date at a quirky Irish-Italian eatery. Once there, he's smitten instantly...not with his date, but with the sharp-witted waitress, Grace (Driver). With unsolicited help from Grace's match-making Grandfather (Carroll O'Connor), Bob asks her out. And as their relationship blossoms, everything seems to be going great, until an unbelievable truth is revealed...one that could easily break both of their hearts for good.

My Thoughts:
This one has some good cast in it... so I was looking forward to checking it out. But what I didn't realize until I was a good half way through the movie is that this is a movie I caught a very small part of years ago at a relative's house but never knew what it was. They had it on cable when I went and it drew me in pretty quick... but we left shortly after we got there... and I never found out what it was. So not only was this a good movie... it is one I been wanting to see for several years now.

I found this one to be a great story... very moving and fun at the same time. I like how they showed it as the heart being much more then a muscle that pumps blood. That there is something there... something special... something recognizable. This is one I definitely recommend... if you haven't seen this movie before... give it a chance.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Plot:
THE RULES OF CHEATING

When you're in a committed relationship and have sex with another person it's not cheating if......

You're in different area codes.

You're with two people at the same time, because they cancel each other out.

But it is definitely cheating if you videotape it and someone accidentally mails the tape to your girlfriend, which to his horror is exactly what happened to Josh. Discovering the mistake, Josh tows two of his college buddies and one not so eager kid who happens to own the car on a raucous 1,800 mile road trip from Ithaca, New York to Austin, Texas to save his lifelong romance.

Road Trip Unseen & Explicit shows you what they didn't dare show at the cinema

My Thoughts:
I haven't watched this movie for years. I still enjoyed it though like I did then. The breakout character for me was DJ Qualls. Without him this movie would have only been half the fun. Seann William Scott is fun as a Stifler-like character. At the time of this movie's release it was still a rather new character, but he only seems to be doing it since. Though if all the making ofs and audio commentaries I have seen, which are mentioning him, are to be believed, Seann William Scott is a real nice guy in real life. Very different to his Stifler persona.
Another performance I enjoyed is Tom Green as the tour guide.
