The two foes clash in an explosive extravaganza that sees Superman save the Statue of Liberty, plug a volcanic eruption of Mount Etna and rebuild the demolished Great Wall of China. Your quest for excitement is over.

My Thoughts:
Better than I remembered, but still the worst of the original Superman movies. Suffering from bad special effects, low budget and a silly story. But it has some scenes which I enjoyed.
The movie strayed too much from being a more serious movie and gets quite comicy. Going even so far as taking a human into space without problems.

Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome, a review by addicted2dvd

Weekend Movie Marathon
Oldies but Goodies
Well... at least I hope goodies as some of the ones I watched this weekend I never seen before. This weekend I decided to dip into my classics collection. There is so many movies in my collection that is old (I consider pre-80's old) which I never seen before... so I want to watch some of those... as well as some of the classics that I know and love. So this weekend I watched...

Dick Tracy Meets Gruesome (1947)
A gang of criminals, which includes a piano player and an imposing former convict known as 'Gruesome', has found out about a scientist's secret formula for a gas that temporarily paralyzes anyone who breathes it. When Gruesome accidentally inhales some of the gas and passes out, the police think he is dead and take him to the morgue, where he later revives and escapes. This puzzling incident attracts the interest of Dick Tracy, and when the criminals later use the gas to rob a bank, Tracy realizes that he must devote his entire attention to stopping them.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the many old movies I have that I never seen before. I got this movie in the classic boxset I got for subscribing to Total Movie Magazine several years ago. It was a good movie I enjoyed every minute of it. Though it did seem a bit on the weird side for me to watch a movie that lasted only about an hour. But I imagine there is lots of classic movies with such a short length. I also liked seeing Boris Karloff in a non-horror role. But even  here he brings an eerie quality to his role. This is definitely a movie I can see myself watching again.

The Flash Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

The Flash Marathon

Image: Barry trying to be Mr. Mom

Episode 14 - Be My Baby
Catching bad guys is easy compared to this! Barry assists a woman fleeing her criminal husband and also copes with what amounts to a brave new world for bachelor Barry: carring for the woman's infant daughter.

Guest Stars:
Priscilla Pointer as Nora Allen
Vito D'Ambrosio as Bellows
Biff Manard as Murphy
Bryan Cranston as Philip Moses
Mike Genovese as Lt. Warren Garfield
Kimberly Neville as Stacy

My Thoughts:
Not a bad episode... but it was never a favorite of mine. This episode really has a quite a few slow spots in it. I did get a kick out of the kid calling Barry Flash at the end of the episode.
