Never Been Kissed, a review by DJ DoenaJanuary, 17th Drew Barrymore ... Josie Geller David Arquette ... Rob Geller Michael Vartan ... Sam Coulson Molly Shannon ... Anita John C. Reilly ... Gus Garry Marshall ... Rigfort Leelee Sobieski ... Aldys Jeremy Jordan ... Guy Perkins James Franco ... Jason Gregory Sporleder ... Coach Romano Synopsis: Josie Geller was one of the nerds in highschool, the kind of girl who asked for extra homework. It was not a pleasent time for her. But now she's an editor at the Chicago Sun-Times and good at her job. But she wants to be a reporter, to write stories instead of reading them. And for this she has to go undercover to highschool again. But neither she nor highschool has changed. My Opinion: A sweet liitle comedy about a young woman who gets the chance of having a better highschool memory and to finally fall in love with the right guy. Not the best romance I've ever seen but still quite enjoyable. (From DJ Doena's movie watchings 2009 on January 17th, 2009) When Harry Met Sally..., a review by addicted2dvdTitle: When Harry Met Sally...: Collector's Edition Year: 1989 Director: Rob Reiner Rating: R Length: 95 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars: Billy Crystal Meg Ryan Carrie Fisher Bruno Kirby Steven Ford Lisa Jane Persky Plot: From acclaimed director Rob Reiner (The Princess Bride) comes this "explosively funny" (Newsweek) romantic comedy classic starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. One of the most beloved romances of all time, When Harry Met Sally... is "shimmering [with] intelligence and humor" (Boxoffice) as it exposes "the kind of truth about relationships that hasn't shown up in movies before" (New York)...or since! Sex always gets in the way of friendships between men and women. At least, that's what Harry Burns (Crystal) believes. So when Harry meets Sally Albright (Ryan) and a deep friendship blossoms between them, Harry's determined not to let his attraction to Sally destroy it. But when a night of weakness ends in a morning of panic, can the pair avoid succumbing to Harry's fears by remaining friends and admitting they just might be the perfect match for each other? Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I have heard good things about this movie many times over the years... but this is the first time I am actually seeing it for myself. I went into this one hoping that all the good things I heard wouldn't make my expectations of this one too high. And I must admit I was expecting a little more from it... but even with that said I enjoyed it quite a bit. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal work well together. I didn't get the chance to check out the extras on this disc... so I may just save them for the next time I watch the movie. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From 14 Days of Romance Marathon on February 9th, 2011) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: Way too edgy for network TV, this funny, uncensored, naming-names series peels off the glitter of Hollywood moviemaking and exposes the duplicitous but totally addictive, behind-the-scenes truth. Campy, uncesored and very controversial, this "too-close-to reality" show features guest stars that include Keanu Reeves, Salma Hayek, Scott Wolf and Sandra Bullock. Superstar producer Peter Dragon (Jay Mohr, host of TV's "Last Comic Standing") builds his stellar career on the three pillars of show business - prostitution, nepostism and dishonesty. Adding to that an ego as big as a Beverly Hills mansion, the aptly named Dragon and his cohorts manage to be politically incorrect, backstabbing, phony, petty, pissy and most of all -- ingeniously funny! Action 1.01 Pilot Writer: Chris Thompson (Writer) Director: Ted Demme Cast: Jay Mohr (Peter Dragon), Illeana Douglas (Wendy Ward), Jarrad Paul (Adam Rafkin), Jack Plotnick (Stuart Glazer), Buddy Hackett (Uncle Lonnie), Keanu Reeves (Himself), Lee Arenberg (Bobby G.), Cindy Ambuehl (Jane Gianopolis), Michelle Hurd (Gina), Gavin Polone (Dodi), Richard Burgi (Cole Riccardi), Sara Paxton (Georgia Dragon), Hector Contreras (Manny Sanchez), Johnny Grant (Himself) Not a bad series and not a bad first episode, but I never quite grew to like it. Maybe it's because Jay Mohr plays a prick so well, that it's hard to get invested in the character Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on March 25th, 2011) |
