King Ralph, a review by addicted2dvdKing Ralph When a freak accident wipes out the entire royal family, an exhaustive search reveals a distant relation: Ralph Jones (Goodman), a good-natured, down-to-earth Las Vegas entertainer. Immediately, the rude and crude Ralph is given a crash course in royal manners by his new private secretary, the very proper Lord Willingham (Peter O'Toole). but while Ralph's uncouth behavior delights the public, it fuels a fiendish plot by the evil Lord Graves (John Hurt), who's out to oust the new ruler. Now, it's up to this lowborn lounge singer to redeem himself in a manner befitting a king in this warmhearted comedy romp. My Thoughts: This movie is more of a guilty pleasure type thing then anything else. It really isn't a particularly good movie... but one I enjoy watching from time to time. To be honest I don't really know why I enjoy it as much as I do. I just find it to be a fun movie. Nothing more and nothing less. The DVD release is pretty good. Good audio and video... but unfortunately there is no extras what so ever. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: 2/27 - 2/29 on March 1st, 2009) Conan: The Barbarian, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Jason Momoa as Conan Stephen Lang as Khalar Zym Rachel Nichols as Tamara Ron Perlman as Corin Rose McGowan as Marique Bob Sapp as Ukafa Plot: A quest that begins as a personal vendetta for the fierce Cimmerian warrior soon turns into an epic battle against hulking rivals, horrific monsters, and impossible odds, as Conan realizes he is the only hope of saving the great nations of Hyboria from an encroaching reign of supernatural evil. Extras:
My Thoughts: This is the second time I got to see this film. The first time I borrowed the DVD from the library shortly before leaving Maryland. Now I watched my own copy on Blu-ray. I thought they did a very good job on this one. Lots of great action... and I really liked Rose McGowan in this film. Loved her finger knives. Though she did look a little freaky in it... but freaky in a cool way. The one problem I do have about this Blu-ray is that there is no real extras on the disc... there was several things on the DVD... it is so weird there being more extras on the DVD then the Blu-ray. My Rating: (From The Alphabet Marathon: Blu-ray Edition on July 21st, 2014) Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Seventh Season, a review by addicted2dvd

My Thoughts: I just finished watching this set. Not to bad considering I just got it this past Monday. While I still consider Grey's Anatomy to be one of my all-time favorite medical dramas... I must admit that this isn't their strongest season. While I definitely enjoyed most all the episodes... they weren't quite the caliber of episodes that I am used to from this series. Especially coming after such an excellent season that we got in season six. And why is it that all my favorite shows just must have a musical episode? While the main storyline for this episode was good... it really didn't need the musical aspect that they gave it. And at the very least... for me personally... it took away from the episode. Making me want to fast forward through half the episode. Still a really good season... but I definitely seen better. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on September 12th, 2012) |
