The Nurse, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: The Nurse Movie Count: 47 TV Ep Count: 8 Time Started: 3:30pm Plot: When her father kills himself and his family after being named in an embezzlement scandal, nurse Laura Harriman (Lisa Zane, Monkeybone) vows revenge on the man responsible. She soon gets her chance when his accuser (Michael Fairman, Dead Silence) suffers a stroke that leaves him paralyzed and mute - the perfect victim. After becoming his private nurse, the "angel of death" sets out on a psychotic killing spree that will complete her descent into madness and destroy an innocent family... one by one. My Thoughts: OK... this is different. According to the cover this movie is Rated R. But watching this movie... everything about it shouts TV Movie of the Week. Not saying that is a bad thing... I thought the story was pretty good. But the feel of the movie... the production value and the effects all screamed TV Movie. It even had the almost required TV Series actress in it. In this case Nancy Dussault (Muriel Rush on Too Close for Comfort)... who even though was starting to show her age looked much the same in this 1997 movie. If there wasn't for one case of cursing and one slit throat I would have been completely convinced it was a TV movie. But as I said... the story was pretty good. So I am not disappointed I got it. Is one I can enjoy again. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 (From My Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2008 on October 12th, 2008) Bats: Human Harvest, a review by addicted2dvd

My Thoughts: I enjoyed the first one... so thought I would give this sequel a chance. I picked up this DVD at Big Lots for $3.00 back in October of 2010 and am just now getting around to watching it. After watching the trailer my hopes wasn't up that high that it would be as good as the first one. And it wasn't as good as the first. But I was still able to enjoy it. It was definitely worth the money I paid. Though still not what I would call a great horror movie. I don't really care for the direction it went using the military as a main storyline. It felt like they wanted to do something similar to Dog Soldiers... but they weren't able to pull it off.My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on January 20th, 2012) Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdAngel: Season 3 20. A New World Original Air Date: 5/6/2002 As Angel tries to track down Connor in the streets of L.A., Lilah approaches a despondent Wesley with an offer from Wolfram and Hart. Guest Stars: Vincent Kartheiser Stephanie Romanov Mark Lutz Erika Thormahlen My Thoughts: While still a good episode... I didn't find this one quite as good as the previous several. While interesting... and I enjoyed the search for Connor and such. I didn't care much for the side storyline. Where Connor meets up with a junkie. And while I understand why it had to be drawn out some... I will be glad to see Wesley back in with the group. But that may take a while yet. My Rating: (From Angel Marathon on March 15th, 2010) |
