Shrek the Third, a review by KinkyCyborgShrek The Third Title:Shrek the Third Year: 2007 Director: Chris Miller Rating: PG Length: 93 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Mike Myers Eddie Murphy Cameron Diaz Antonio Banderas Julie Andrews Plot:Extras: Scene Access Feature Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Interactive Games Music Videos Outtakes/Bloopers DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Took me a while to get around to watching this as I wasn't really looking forward to it. I just have... had this feeling that the whole Shrek thing has been rather overdone and it will continue to fade and pale in comparison with every sequel. Doh! Wrong again! I won't say this is the best in the series but I gotta admit, it's still entertaining even after round 3! I love the frogs singing Live And Let Die, the diva princesses (Snow White, Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty) turned bad-ass Charlie's Angels and a gaggle of one liners from much of the supporting cast kept a smile on my face throughout. Eddie Murphy is still on his game as Donkey although I notice his screen time is starting to diminish, like he is rotating out as one of the central characters. Pinocchio, Gingerbread Man and The Three Pigs are still a riot. The one I dislike the most is Puss'n Boots, aka Antonio Banderas. Never found him funny and I don't think he has the voice to pull off voice over comedy. Great music throughout too. The rebel charge set to Heart's Barracuda was stellar! My Thoughts: I was so excited to see this movie. While I wasn't disappointed... as it is a good movie... it wasn't as good as the first one. Going by the trailer I was a little concerned on how they portrayed Electro. But after seeing the movie I found they did him pretty cool. Not thrilled with the storyline with Gwen Stacy though I do understand how they got there... so I can forgive that. But what I can't forgive is how they portrayed Rhino. I just did not like how they did him at all. But over-all a very good movie... this one is definitely worth every moment put in to watch it. Plot: In the 21st century, a family of vampires settled down in Japan. They lived among humans and sucked their blood quietly and discreetly. However their daughter Karin had a secret that she could not share with anyone. She did not suck blood like the rest of the family. Instead, her blood level increases! She is a blood making vampire! Karin 1.01 Bleeding Is Embarrassing Writer: Yuna Kagesaki (Original Material By), Yasunori Yamada (Screenwriter) Director: Yutaka Kurosawa, Shinichiro Kimura Cast: Japanese Cast), Sayuri Yahagi (Karin Maaka (voice)), Katsuyuki Konishi (Kenta Usui (voice)), Yuka Inokuchi (Anju Maaka (voice)), Dai Matsumoto (Henry Marker (voice)), Emi Shinohara (Carrera Marker (voice)), Nojima Hirofumi (Boogy (voice)), Mikako Takahashi (Maki Tokitou (voice)), Sayori Ishizuka (Class Teacher (voice)), Yuko Gibu (Fukumi Naito (voice)), Takashi Kawakami (Business Man (voice)), Mari Todo (Female Student (voice)), English Cast), Chelsea Curto (Karin Maaka (voice)), Chelsea Curto (Nurse (voice)), Yahav Rom (Kenta Usui (voice)), Marian Elizabeth Spencer (Anju Maaka (voice)), Marian Elizabeth Spencer (Naito (voice)), Paul John Pistore (Henry Marker (voice)), Paul John Pistore (Boogy (voice)), Chio Su Ping (Carrera Marker (voice)), Hillary Blazer-Doyle (Maki Tokitou (voice)), Coral Tong (Teacher (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Narrator (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Ren Maaka (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Boss (voice)), Meriem Bekka (Fumio Usui (voice)) Karin is teenage vampire. But not the normal kind of vampire. Instead of sucking blood, her blood increases until it is released in violent nose bleeds. Or she bites someone and transfuses this excess blood to the other person. This abnormality also makes her a day person. This all is an embarassment to the family. The pilot episode is a good introduction. I have also read the manga this series is based. During the first half of the anime, the storyline of the manga is followed, but then with the introduction of an original character halfway through, the story deviates from the manga.
