Abrams' smash hit STAR TREK. When the Romulan Nero comes from the future to take revenge on the Federation, rivals Kirk and Spock must work together to stop him from destroying everything they know. On a thrilling journey filled with incredible action, the new recruits of the U.S.S. Enterprise will voyage through unimaginable danger in one of the biggest and most critically acclaimed movies of the year. Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Deleted Scenes Featurettes Outtakes/Bloopers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is the second time I have watched this movie since I bought it last November. I definitely enjoyed it! It had a lot of great action. This movie did a wonderful job at revitalizing the dying franchise. I loved what they did with all the characters. I don't think you could ask for a better cast. I thought the effects were just stunning. Up to this point The Wrath of Khan has been my favorite Star Trek movie. This one is right up there with it. I don't think I could choose what is better between the two. I think that would depend on my mood. If I felt like something with the extra stunning effects or what. Story-wise... for me... it is pretty darn close. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: The Final Frontier on August 15th, 2010) Hinokio , a review by Tom
Stars:Plot: Satoru, a heartbroken boy who has withdrawn into his room for a year, uses a remote-controlled robot called "Hinokio" to take his first cautious, fearful step into the outside world again. He goes to school and finds fellowship. Then, through an encounter with a girl called Jun, he reconnects with humanity and feels once again the sensation of warm human touch. But Jun deeply desires to meet directly with the real Satoru, instead of meeting him through the robot. Satoru, who also wants to experience the world directly, activates the robot's sensation mode, exposing himself to mortal threat. Jun risks all in an attempt to rescue him... Extras:
My Thoughts: A very good and touching movie. A hikikomori (shut-in) takes his first steps back into the real world with the help of a remote-controlled robot. They really did a great job with the robot. It doesn't look ridiculous at any time. The title of course is a play on "Pinoccio".Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on February 22nd, 2011) Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon, a review by Tom04. Inca Mummy Girl (1997-10-06) Writer: Joss Whedon (Created By), Matt Kiene (Writer), Joe Reinkemeyer (Writer) Director: Ellen S. Pressman Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase), David Boreanaz (Angel), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Kristine Sutherland (Joyce Summers), Ara Celi (Ampada), Seth Green (Oz), Jason Hall (Devon), Hendrik Rosvall (Sven), Joey Crawford (Rodney), Danny Strong (Jonathan), Kristen Winnicki (Gwen), Gil Birmingham (Peru Man), Samuel Jacobs (Peruvian Boy) A rather weak episode. But I like the introduction of Oz and that he takes interest in our Willow. Rating: (From Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon on February 4th, 2009) |
