Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, a review by Rich

awestruck in Taiwan...

Two master warriors (Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh) are faced with their greatest challenge when the treasured Green Destiny sword is stolen. A young aristocrat (Zhang Ziyi) prepares for an arranged marriage, but soon reveals her superior fighting talents and her deeply romantic past. As each warrior battles for justice, they come face to face with their worst enemy - and the inescapable, enduring power of love.

This is beginning to feel like a Chow Yun Fat marathon (or is than Fat Chow Yun or Yun Fat Chow  ::) )
Watching this again but for the first time on a highly detailed 42" screen made it feel like a new viewing experience, what a masterpiece it is in film-making and handling of this genre. Stunning imagery and effects, brilliant acting from all parties, attention to detail is superb, an all round great and highly recommended film. 8/10

Dressed to Kill, a review by addicted2dvd

Dressed to Kill (1946)
A convicted thief in Dartmoor prison hides the location of the stolen Bank of England printing plates inside three music boxes. When the innocent purchasers of the boxes start to be murdered, Holmes and Watson investigate.

My Thoughts:
all the sudden I got in the mood for some classic Sherlock Holmes movies. I haven't seen many of these... matter of fact I have 3 in my collection I never seen. I got this movie in the free 20 Disc 40 movie boxset I got for subscribing to Total Movie Magazine. So I thought I would at least work on those some today. It is the first time I ever seen this movie. It wasn't a bad movie... but I have seen better. The ending was kind of sudden and a bit contrived. Quality has been bad to decent in this boxset. This one the quality was ok... but definitely could have been better. There is some film damage that was  never cleaned.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Angel: Season 1

10. Parting Gifts
Original Air Date: 12/14/1999
As Cordelia struggles with the unwanted gift Doyle passed on to her, a leather-clad Wesley Wyndam-Pryce roars into town claiming to be a rogue demon hunter.

Guest Stars:
Maury Sterling
Carey Cannon
Randall Slavin
Alexis Denisof

My Thoughts:
This is the episode where Wesley is added to the show. This is one Buffy character I never liked. But he grows into a pretty good character on this show. I liked the storyline on this one. Especially towards the end... at the auction house.
