Ocean's 13, a review by DragonfireIt's bolder. Riskier. The most dazzling heist yet. George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and more reteam with director Steven Soderbergh for a split-second caper that stacks the deck with wit, style and cool. Danny Ocean again runs the game, so no rough stuff. No one gets hurt. Except for double-crossing Vegas kingpin Willy Bank (Al Pacino). Ocean's crew will hit him where it hurts: in his wallet. On opening night of Bank's posh new casino tower The Bank, every turn of a card and roll of the dice will come up a winner for bettors. And they'll hit him in his pride, making sure the tower doesn't receive a coveted Five Diamond Award. That's just the start of the flimflams. The boys are out to break The Bank. Place your bets! My Thoughts I loved the first movie and enjoyed the second one overall even though it wasn't as good as the first. I thought this one was more like the first one. The reason for them all getting together again and pulling the job was more believable since they were doing it for Reuben. Wally Bank was a good villain for the story and I think I ended up liking him less than I did Benedict in the first one. I liked the planning and plotting that they were doing and thought it made for a very entertaining movie, especially with how everything worked out. The cast was great. Brad Pitt and George Clooney work very well together and seemed believable as friends. Overall, this was a very entertaining movie. I posted a review on Epinions after I saw the movie in the theater if anyone is interested. Ocean's Thirteen (From Dragonfire: What I've Been Watching on March 1st, 2009) Slap Shot 3: The Junior League, a review by KinkyCyborgTitle:Slap Shot 3: The Junior League Year: 2008 Director: Richard Martin Rating: PG Length: 91 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Greyston Holt Jeff Carlson Steve Carlson David Hanson [Dave Hanson] Lynda Boyd Plot: The Hanson Brothers Are Back! Get ready for a rough-and-tumble comedy that knows how to kick some serious puck! When a ragtag youth team is on the verge of losing it, their only hope lies with the most outrageous players to ever hit the ice - The Hanson Brothers! Featuring comedy legend Leslie Nielsen and hockey greats Mark Messier and Doug Gilmour, Slap Shot 3 adds an all-new, hilarious chapter to the hardest-hitting, most irreverent sports comedy franchise of all time! Extras: Scene Access Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes The Making of Slap Shot 3: The Junior League, Hockey Legends My Thoughts: Yay! A hockey movie!! Not a great one but it wasn't too bad. Played much like a Family Movie of the Week. Had some feel good moments and decent acting by the mostly teenage cast. The goonery that took place during the games make it completely improbable but no more so than the original Slap Shot. Probably the worst aspect of the film was the Hanson Brothers who just aren't relevant anymore and not funny at all. Cameos by Doug Gilmour and Mark Messier. ODYSSEY My Thoughts: The episodes with other superheroes has always been some of my favorite epiodes. And this one is no different. I enjoyed every minute of it. Not only do we get to see the Green Arrow, Black Canary and Aquaman again... but also The Martian Manhunter comes back as well. My Rating: 2. PLASTIQUE My Thoughts: Another episode I really enjoyed! This is my second time seeing the episode (counting the orginal airing) and I was glued to my set watching it! My Rating: 3. TOXIC OLIVER QUEEN, poisoned and near death, recalls his first use of a bow and arrow. Is there someone whose lightning-like data-processing powers can find an antidote to the toxin? And will Tess also be a victim of the poison. My Thoughts: Another good episode. Though not quite as good as the previous two. I liked how they worked in somewhat of an origin story for the Green Arrow. showing how he got good with the bow and arrow. My Rating: 4. INSTINCT She's searching for a man who is her equal, Maxima, whose kiss is fatal to mortal men, arrives on Earth, looking for her KRYPTONIAN soul ,ate. She locks eyes on Jimmy, will they lock lips? My Thoughts: I enjoyed this one quite a bit as well. It seems, going by this first disc, that I may be able to say that season 8 is going to be a better season then 7.
