Peeping Tom, a review by dfmorgan

Peeping Tom

Year: 1960
Director: Michael Powell
Cast: Carl Boehm, Moira Shearer, Anna Massey

OverviewWatched: 14th. Aug 2010
My Thoughts: OK not a film I can say I enjoyed however I did find it to be interesting. There are obvious similarities to Psycho, released the same year, in that the protagonist has been twisted by an overbearing parent and that they then go on to murder people. However whilst in Psycho we don't get clarity on the murderer until near the end of the film here we meet him committing his first offence at the beginning. Unlike Psycho this film kept me interested through to its completion. Hard to believe that it caused such a furore when it was released, especially when you look to todays offerings in the Saw  franchise and those from the Hostel and The Grudge stables, but it did and effectively killed off Michael Powell's career.

My Rating: An interesting 4

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, a review by addicted2dvd

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation
In defiance of the Elder Lords, the evil Outworlders are back to wreak hell on Earth. Led by the mighty Shao Kahn, their gruesome goal is humanity's complete and utter extinction. Earth's last and only hope is the mighty martial arts warrior Liu Kang and his ferocious fighting friends. They're all that stand between life...and annihilation!

My Thoughts:
OK... Let me start off by saying it has been a very long time since I seen this movie... or the first one for that matter... so I remember very little of the first movie going into this movie again. I didn't enjoy this movie as much as I remembered enjoying it in the past. Maybe it is because I wasn't able to watch the first one first. The last time I watched this I was able to get the first one at the video store I worked at.. at the time. The martial arts and special effects was cool... but how this one takes off right where the first one left off it was kinda hard to get in the mood for the story itself... as it felt like a cold, hard start of the story. Maybe would have been different if it hasn't been so many years since I saw the first one.

Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon, a review by Tom

15. Phases (1998-01-27)
Writer: Joss Whedon (Created By), Rob Des Hotel (Writer), Dean Batali (Writer)
Director: Bruce Seth Green
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase), David Boreanaz (Angel), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Seth Green (Oz), Camila Griggs (Gym Teacher), Jack Conley (Cain), Larry Bagby III (Larry), Megahn Perry (Theresa), Keith Campbell (Werewolf)

I always liked the idea of Oz being a werewolf. Although the werewolf looks quite cheap in this episode.
