The Adjustment Bureau, a review by Dragonfire

I managed to see The Adjustment Bureau while it was still in the theater here.

The movie is based on a short story by Phillip K. Dick.  I haven't read the story, so I have no clue how much the story has been changed for the movie.  The plot is interesting and makes an entertaining movie, though I do think certain things are more predictable.  There are science fiction elements to the movie, though not typical ones.  The movie has a more normal feel than many of the science fiction movies I've seen.  The plot progresses in a way that explains things fairly well.  There is a little bit of action in a few scenes without the movie being action packed.  There are few chases that are more interesting because they are done in a more unique way.

A relationship develops in a different sort of way between David and Elise.  Some of what happens between them is kind of sweet.  Something else that happens isn't as nice.  The characters are interesting, though they could be developed a bit better.

I did enjoy the movie overall and think it is worth seeing.

I did post a review on Epinions after seeing the movie in the theater.

Plot:
Everything is planned. Everything is packed. And everything is about to go hilariously wrong. The Griswolds are going on vacation. In the driver's seat, of course, is Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase), an Everyman eager to share the open road and the wonders of family togetherness with his wife and kids. Myriad mishaps, crude kin (Randy Quaid), encounters with a temptress (Christie Brinkley), financial woes, Aunt Edna (Imogene Coca) on the roof, one security guard (John Candy) and 2,460 miles later, it is indeed a wonder the Griswolds are together. There's never been a family vacation like it. Except perhaps for yours. And that helps explain why National Lampoon's Vacation remains so popular... and so very funny.

Extras:
Scene Access
Audio Commentary
Feature Trailers
Featurettes
Closed Captioned

My Thoughts:
It has been many years since I seen this movie! And I really enjoyed seeing it again. I forgot how great Beverly D'Angelo looked when she made this movie. I never really seen this movie as a laugh out loud type movie... just a fun film to watch. One thing I found interesting that I never knew before... Anthony Michael Hall played Chevy Chase's son Rusty in this movie. He grew up to star in the TV Series The Dead Zone... which I also enjoyed very much. I am glad I got to see this movie again... it is one I would recommend checking out if you never seen it before.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

"Due South" marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Vault

This is a fun episode. as was said there is a couple new characters that appears in this season. Though I don't know what I think of them at this point since their parts in this episode was really rather small. I also liked seeing Francesca with a larger part then she normally has. The ending on this one was a bit shocking... will be interesting to see where it goes from here.

My Rating:
