Alex & Emma, a review by DJ Doena

June, 16th

Luke Wilson    ...    Alex Sheldon / Adam Shipley
Kate Hudson   ...    Emma Dinsmore / Ylva / Elsa / Eldora / Anna
David Paymer   ...    John Shaw
Sophie Marceau   ...    Polina Delacroix

Synopsis: Alex owes some guys 50 grand due to gambling problems and of course he doesn't have the money. But he's a writer and he promises them a hundred grand in 30 days when his new book is finished - but he hasn't even begun it yet. He needs a stenographer to type 300 pages in 30 days and thus he hires Emma to type while he's dictating his story.

My Opinion:Alex & Emma fails. It's like watching a village creek flow for 92 minutes. Nothing extraordinary happens, not even the blunder was a big deal. They even had this basically cool idea to "jump" into the story Alex was writing and Emma interrupts him and demands changes. There was so much potential to use (for example) rewind effects or morphing effects to change to story while telling but they barely made use of such devices. And what's worse: The story Alex was writing was boring as hell.
This was a blind buy, of course.

Toy Story 2, a review by snowcat

Here we see Jessie, at this point Woody has been talking about how he has to get back to Andy, because Andy loves him. Upset by this Jessie walks away only to be followed by Woody who again, tells her how great Andy is. Jessie snaps back at him telling him she knows what its like but it will change.

Here we see Emily playing with Jessie happily, after going to a small park the two return in the car. Jessie is safely tucked in Emily seatbelt, Emily strokes her hand in a comforting way (maybe the same way you would comfort a tired child?) Jessie seems to go to sleep.

After Jessie falls under Emily's bed she looks out to see Emily is starting to grow up, she's into makeup and has her friend over. very different to the days she dressed as a cow girl.

What appears to be a few years later, Emily drops her makeup on the floor reaching under her bed she finds Jessie, she pulls her out and looks at her. Jessie looks happily back

At this point we see that Jessie thinks every thing will return to the way it was. She sits in Emily's bag in the car as they return to the same park from earlier.

Ghost Whisperer Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Disc 2:

5. A GRAVE MATTER
On Halloween, Melinda is visited by the ghost of an author who claims he is in the wrong grave, while Delia is visited by a ghostlooking for her handbag.

My Thoughts:
Ohhhh a Halloween episode. I just love Halloween episodes of TV Series! This is a really good one... even though they do downplay Halloween in it. Kinda just in the background. The story was good though.

6. THE WOMAN OF HIS DREAMS
Jim is haunted by a beautiful model who died having plastic surgery, and who may be trying to warn her younger sister not to follow in her footsteps.

My Thoughts:
a good episode. This time it is Jim's turn to help a ghost... only Melinda isn't around much to help him out! She is visiting her mother... who just had an operation herself.

7. A VICIOUS CIRCLE
While camping with Jim, Melinda encounters a mother who died in a snowstorm, who is determined to protect the daughter she supposedly abandoned.

My Thoughts:
A good episode... but not great. I think it could have been better.

8. THE NIGHT WE MET
Melinda worries that the ghost of a man who died in a fire may now be an arsonist. She's also worried that Jim forgot the anniversary of the night they met.

My Thoughts:
This episode I liked a lot... not only is it a good story when it comes to the ghost... but I also really enjoyed seeing how Melinda and Jim got together. And I loved how Jim toyed with Melinda... acting like he forgot the anniversary of when they met. Something like I would do... used to make Dawn (my late wife) nuts!
