Planet Terror, a review by addicted2dvd

Planet Terror
'DIRECTOR ROBERT RODRIGUEZ (SIN CITY) IS BACK' with a rip-roaring, zombie-infested rollercoaster of a movie that "sure as hell keeps you hanging on for the ride" (Peter Travers, 'Rolling Stone'). Rose McGowan, Freddy Rodriguez, Bruce Willis, and an all-star cast fight for their lives in the ultimate showdown between an army of flesh-eating mutants and a motley group of rag-tag survivors. Featuring one of the most memorable screen heroines ever and the now legendary mock 'Machete' trailer, "'Planet Terror' is a total blast - funny, gloriously gory and over the top" (Christy Lemire, 'Associated Press').

My Thoughts:
Hmmm... what did I think of this movie? I am writing this right after I turned it off so really had no time to really reflect on it. Parts of me really enjoyed it for what it is.. but yet other parts of me felt a bit let down. Well... I love Rose McGowan... I have been a fan every since she joined the TV Series Charmed... so I really thought she was great. I think my main problem with the movie was the style it was made in.. I don't like the way they went out of their way to make a new movie look like it was on really old and damaged film stock. That is just something that makes no sense to me what so ever. Another thing I had a problem with... is some of the stuff was just so far fetched out there that it did take away from the movie for me a little. But as I said... over-all I did enjoy it to. I thought it was better then the other Grindhouse movie "Death Proof".

The gore is really up there on this movie.... so if you enjoy gore in your horror... you should enjoy all that is in this one. There was even some gross stuff in this one I really wish I didn't see! (those that seen the movie... think to when Rose McGowan's character was going to get raped at the old military base)  :yucky:

Of course this has a lot of extras with it. It is a 2-Disc special edition after all. But I really didn't look at the extras for it yet. I did flip though some of the Poster Art Gallery... but that is about it.

I can see myself watching this movie again... but  just when a certain mood hits.

Plot:
On a family vacation to Hawaii, Ray rekindles an old romance with Tito's cousin, Noelani. Reggie and Otto feel dissed since Ray keeps canceling their extreme sports plans because Noelani says they're too dangerous. As the final straw, Reggie and Otto defy Ray to take off to surf the perilous Banzai Pipeline. But it's too late when they realize Noelani was right about this one!

Extras:
Bonus Episodes

My Thoughts:

Oh yeah, I remember this from when Hey Arnold! and CatDog were still on the air. (Or somehwere around there.) Reggie, Otto, Twister, Squid. The cartoons didn't make more extreme kids!! Although I always liked the show, the movie I didn't care for too much. Don't get me wrong the "Evil little men" Menehune thing was funny! But the thing about Ray finding a girl and the kids getting jealous, idk, just don't care for it.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Pilot Season 2014-15, a review by DJ Doena

About A Boy

About A Boy @ Wikipedia
About A Boy @ IMDb

Synopsis: Will wrote a Christmas song that made him decently rich a few years ago. He is an adult but he never grew up.
His life changes when a single mother and her young son move in next door.
Marcus doesn't have any friends and is a bit "odd" but for some reason the connects with Will and vice versa.
From there on the three of them have a kind of relationship that is very hard to explain to outsiders but it works for them.

My Opinion: The show started during the Olympics back in February and will soon start its second season.
It's based on the same book and has (in the beginning) the same basic story as the movie of the same name starring Hugh Grant.

The only truly recognizable names are Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting) and Al Madrigal (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart).

I liked the show right from the start and I am glad that it got a second season. Like most comedies I like it's not of the Ha-Ha-LOL variety but bases his humour more on the general setting and the likeability of the characters.
