I'm with Lucy, a review by addicted2dvd

I'm with Lucy
Dumped by the man she thought was perfect for her; newly-single Lucy (Monica Potter, 'Along Came a Spider') continues her search for Mr. Right. Set up on a series of blind dates, she meets five handsome and eligible bachelors, each with their own charms...and flaws. There's the macho jerk (Anthony LaPaglia, 'Analyze That'), the sexual dynamo (Gael Carcia Bernal, 'Y Tu Mama Tambien'), the handsome surgeon (David Boreanaz, TVs 'Angel'), the divorced writer (John Hannah, 'The Mummy Returns') and the uptight executive (Henry Thomas, 'All the Pretty Horses'). Has she finally met the man of her dreams or will her dating nightmare never end?

'I'm with Lucy' is a charming and endearing romantic comedy in the tradition of 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and 'Serendipity'.

My Thoughts:
What to say about this movie.... hmmmmm... well... it is a decent movie... but far from great. For a romantic comedy... it seemed to me that it lacked a bit in the comedy department. Sure... there was a cute scene here and there... but nothing I would call funny. This movie has 1 person that is very familiar to me... that being David Boreanaz who of course was Angel in the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel"... not to mention that he plays Booth in series "Bones". In this movie he plays Luke... one of the guys that dated Lucy. But he did play a bit of a jerk. Like I said... this was a decent movie... but if you feel like checking it out... don't go into it expecting too much.

The Year of the Yahoo!, a review by Jimmy

MOVIE / DVD INFO:

Title: The Year of the Yahoo! (1972)

Genre: Drama
Director: Herschell Gordon Lewis
Rating: R
Length: 1h29
Video: Full Frame
Audio: English
Subtitles: None

Stars:
Claude King
Ray Sager
Ronna Riddle
Robert Swain
Jeffrey Allen

Plot:
My Thoughts:
The last movie directed by HGL (I don't consider Blood Feast 2 made in 2002 as one of his movie, the producer had used his name) before he decided to take a break from the film industry. If you are familliar with his production you will recognize instantly 2 actors in this one : Ray Sager (he is the Wizard of Gore for all the fans, now he is a producer and he had won a Genie Award1 for The Eleventh Hour) and Jeffrey Allen (he is the mayor in Two Thousand Maniacs!). The rest of the cast is composed mostly of one timer (pretty usual in the Lewis movies) and Claude King who is not really an actor does a good in his role (but in a way he play himself, since he is a country singer). The story is interesting and show how a politician his created by the image makers (I really hope that everyone know that everything our politicians do or say is scripted), something not known well in 72. This is a different movie than what Lewis do usually but it's a good one (I can't say the same thing for This Stuff'll Kill Ya that is the second features on the dvd, this movie is boring).

Rating :

1. The Genie Awards or Gemini Awards in english are given by the Canadian television industry.

My PILOT Marathon, a review by Rich

Being Human - Series One

Episode 1
The 3 housemates are discovering the difficulties of living in the human world, with vampire Mitchell struggling to repress his desire for blood, ghost Annie being confronted by another ghost from her past, and werewolf George looking for a place he can undergo his transformation in safety.

Despite this not being the original set of actors as the 'real pilot' it was clearly shown much later as the writers took great care in introducing the main characters, and how they became to be as they are. It is slickly written and produced, with a nice blend of drama, comedy and light horror. My favourite character is of course George, and keen to see how his storyline progresses. Altogether very impressed with this 'pilot' episode and the potential shown.
I will view the balance of this series very soon.
