Godsend, a review by JimmyMOVIE / DVD INFO: Title: Godsend (2004) Genre: Drama / Horror Director: Nick Hamm Rating: PG-13 Length: 1h42 Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2:35.1 Audio: English Subtitles: English and Spanish Stars: Greg Kinnear Rebecca Romijn Robert De Niro Cameron Bright Merwin Mondesir Plot: My Thoughts: A little bit predictable and not really scary, but it's Holywood horror so it's understandable that the horror is more psychological. The basic premisses is plausible since our memory is located in our brain and like everything we are it's a cellular mass, so the dual personality considering how it was done in the film is credible (in real life I doubt it would be, cloning of course it is but like the doctor do no way). All in all this is recommanded but I've seen better acting from Robert De Niro... Rating : (From Jimmy's - 2013 Ooctober Horror Marathon on October 20th, 2013) D.O.A., a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Edmond O'Brien as Frank Bigelow Pamela Britton as Paula Gibson Luther Adler as Majak Beverly Garland as Miss Foster Lynn Baggett as Mrs. Philips William Ching as Halliday Plot: A film noir classic featuring Edmond O'Brien as the doomed victem, who having been mysteriously poisoned, must retrace all his steps from the last twenty-four hours to find his killers - before time runs out! Told in flashback style, the suspense is palpable throughout and builds to a rousing climax, even though O'Brien's fate is essentially sealed from the outset. Extras:
My Thoughts: This is a very good movie. I liked the storyline a lot. The entire cast was good. One thing did bother me a bit though. It was in the beginning of the movie. Multiple times within the first 15 minutes of the movie whenever he looked at another pretty girl you would hear the sound effect of a slide whistle. That took away from the movie for me. Thankfully it was only in the first 15 minutes of the movie. I just felt it wasn't needed... especially for the kind of story that this one is. I mean it would have been different if this was some sort of slapstick comedy or something. Just didn't work for this type of movie. But over-all this is one movie I would definitely recommend. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Black & White on June 24th, 2011) Doctor Who Marathon, a review by TomDoctor Who Series 1.03 The Unquiet Dead Writer: Mark Gatiss (Writer) Director: Euros Lyn Cast: Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), Billie Piper (Rose Tyler), Alan David (Gabriel Sneed), Huw Rhys (Redpath), Jennifer Hill (Mrs Peace), Eve Myles (Gwyneth), Simon Callow (Charles Dickens), Wayne Cater (Stage Manager), Meic Povey (Driver), Zoe Thorne (The Gelth) Originally I only wanted to watch one Doctor Who episode today. But then I saw that Eve Myles guest starred in this episode. I now know her from the main cast of Torchwood. Her character here is very different. If I hadn't read the name, I am not sure if I would have recognized her. Even though knowing it is her, it is rather obvious. She did a good job. This episode reintroduces the concept, that when the doctor travels to the earth's path, he usually encounters an alien life form, from which he has to save humankind. It is a good episode, even though I am not much a fan of "ghost" stories. (From Doctor Who Marathon on January 6th, 2014) |
