My Thoughts: I watched this one on Netflix with my daughter after work last night... and was kind of surprised that I actually enjoyed the story. Telling me to give the sequel a chance. I Liked most the characters here. I would say over-all worth the time put in to watch it. Rating: (From July Movie Marathon: Musicals (Yes... You read right!) on July 8th, 2016) Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, a review by DragonfireThings start to get a little darker in this one, and a little more complicated for Harry. The story is really entertaining and again, the adaptation stays fairly close to the book. I could have done without the snakes and the basalisk. That think is freaky. Daniel, Emma, and Rupert are already doing a bit better with their acting. Rupert especially looks older than in the last movie. The main extra in this one from the Ultimate Edition is focused on how they created the looks for the different locations and created the magical effects. The extra is really interesting and definitely worth checking out. There is footage that was shot while the movie was filming, and some that was tied to the later movies..like when a new location was introduced. Some things from the sixth movie are included - I believe they were filming it when they started working on the Ultimate Edition stuff. Nothing from the seventh movie is included. Now that I've seen both parts of Deathly Hallows, it would have been nice to have those new locations and things included in the featurette. The movie, just like the first, looks wonderful on Blu-ray. I still love this movie even though I've seen it numerous times now. I think I posted about it here before and shared the link to my review at Epinions. I'll share the link again just in case I didn't share it before. Plot: In the 21st century, a family of vampires settled down in Japan. They lived among humans and sucked their blood quietly and discreetly. However their daughter Karin had a secret that she could not share with anyone. She did not suck blood like the rest of the family. Instead, her blood level increases! She is a blood making vampire! Karin 1.01 Bleeding Is Embarrassing Writer: Yuna Kagesaki (Original Material By), Yasunori Yamada (Screenwriter) Director: Yutaka Kurosawa, Shinichiro Kimura Cast: Japanese Cast), Sayuri Yahagi (Karin Maaka (voice)), Katsuyuki Konishi (Kenta Usui (voice)), Yuka Inokuchi (Anju Maaka (voice)), Dai Matsumoto (Henry Marker (voice)), Emi Shinohara (Carrera Marker (voice)), Nojima Hirofumi (Boogy (voice)), Mikako Takahashi (Maki Tokitou (voice)), Sayori Ishizuka (Class Teacher (voice)), Yuko Gibu (Fukumi Naito (voice)), Takashi Kawakami (Business Man (voice)), Mari Todo (Female Student (voice)), English Cast), Chelsea Curto (Karin Maaka (voice)), Chelsea Curto (Nurse (voice)), Yahav Rom (Kenta Usui (voice)), Marian Elizabeth Spencer (Anju Maaka (voice)), Marian Elizabeth Spencer (Naito (voice)), Paul John Pistore (Henry Marker (voice)), Paul John Pistore (Boogy (voice)), Chio Su Ping (Carrera Marker (voice)), Hillary Blazer-Doyle (Maki Tokitou (voice)), Coral Tong (Teacher (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Narrator (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Ren Maaka (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Boss (voice)), Meriem Bekka (Fumio Usui (voice)) Karin is teenage vampire. But not the normal kind of vampire. Instead of sucking blood, her blood increases until it is released in violent nose bleeds. Or she bites someone and transfuses this excess blood to the other person. This abnormality also makes her a day person. This all is an embarassment to the family. The pilot episode is a good introduction. I have also read the manga this series is based. During the first half of the anime, the storyline of the manga is followed, but then with the introduction of an original character halfway through, the story deviates from the manga.
