Guess Who, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Guess Who Year: 2005 Director: Kevin Rodney Sullivan Rating: PG-13 Length: 105 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Plot:Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Outtakes/Bloopers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I been curios about checking this one out since the first time I ever seen the trailer. It just looked so funny. And it is a good funny movie... I enjoyed it quite a bit. But it is one of those deals where the funniest scenes where in the trailer. Which kinda sucks. But overall I liked this one... and definitely can see myself watching it again. Bernie Mac is hilarious in this one. I normally don't care too much for Ashton Kutcher... but I actually enjoyed him in this one. His style and humor worked well here. Glad I got this one added to my collection. Thank You to my friend that generously gave me this dvd! My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on September 12th, 2010) The Bank Dick, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars:Plot: Dividing his time between the Black Pussy Cafe and his dreaded family, lowly bank guard Egbert Souse (W.C. Fields) suddenly finds fate leading him to heroism, Hollywood and the good life. Extras:
My Thoughts: My first viewing of W.C. Fields. I must admit I was expecting a little more from it. Especially since I heard this was one of his better ones. Yes, I did get a few chuckles here and there. And I can see how the character he created became as likable as he did. I don't know... maybe I went in with too high of expectations. I would say worth the time put in to watch it but nothing spectacular. The Spirit Box When two suburban high school girls try to contact a dead classmate via a board game, they receive an unexpected message from beyond the grave. Director: Rob Schmidt ("Masters of Horror," Wrong Turn) Stars: Anna Kendrick Martin Donovan Jessica Parker Kennedy Mark Pellegrino Samantha Hill Teresa Hung My Thoughts: This is a Halloween episode! Which I found odd since according to the cover art the last episode in the set (The Circle) is a Halloween episode. So either there is 2 Halloween episodes in this set... or the misprinted the cover art for the last episode. Though this one... only the opening scene takes place on Halloween night. This is another episode I enjoyed quite a bit. I liked how they did the ending. I thought I knew what the end twist was... and no sooner as they were revealing it... they twisted it again.
