The Mummy (2017), a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Tom Cruise as Nick Morton Russell Crowe as Henry Jekyll Annabelle Wallis as Jenny Halsey Sofia Boutella as Ahmanet Jake Johnson (1978) as Sgt. Vail Plot: Tom Cruise stars in this spectacular version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy. Thought safely entombed deep beneath the desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day. Her malevolence has grown over millennia and with it come terrors that defy human comprehension. From the sands of the Middle East through modern-day London. The Mummy balances wonder, thrills and imagination. Extras:
My Thoughts: This film is a good combination of action and horror. It is not the greatest I seen of it's type... but well worth the time put in to watch it. I never been a huge fan of Tom Cruise... but he has grown on me over the past few years. I am not really familiar with the actress but I liked the woman that played Ahmanet. I also liked how they left the ending open for a possible franchise. Rating: (From Horror / Halloween 2017 Challenge on October 19th, 2017) The Possession of Hannah Grace, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Shay Mitchell as Megan Reed Grey Damon as Andrew Kurtz Kirby Johnson as Hannah Grace/Cadaver Nick Thune as Randy Louis Herthum as Man/Killer/Grainger Plot: A shocking exorcism spirals out of control, claiming the life of a young woman. Months later, Megan Reed (Shay Mitchell) is working the graveyard shift in the morgue when she takes delivery of a disfigured cadaver. Locked alone inside the basement corridors, Megan begins to experience horrifying visions and starts to suspect that the body may be possessed by a ruthless demonic force. Extras:
My Thoughts: A decent film but I have seen better in its sub-genre. I really wasn't familiar with any of the cast, but they did a fine job. Not a bad waste of an hour and a half. I can see watching it again. Rating: (From Horror/Halloween Marathon 2023 on September 27th, 2023) "Big Bang Theory" Marathon, a review by Tom11. The Pancake Batter Anomaly (2008-03-31) Writer: Bill Prady, Stephen Engel, Chuck Lorre, Lee Aronsohn Director: Mark Cendrowski Cast: Johnny Galecki (Leonard Hofstadter), Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper), Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Simon Helberg (Howard Wolowitz), Kunal Nayyar (Rajesh Koothrappali), Carol Ann Susi (Mrs. Wolowitz), Erin Allin O'Reilly (Cheryl) Sheldon is sick and is being a pain in the ass. A good episode (though not as good as other Sheldon-centered episodes so far). And Sheldon got Penny to rub his chest. Lucky guy! 12. The Jersualem Duality (2008-04-14) Writer: Dave Goetsch, Steven Molaro, Jennifer Glickman, Stephen Engel Director: Mark Cendrowski Cast: Johnny Galecki (Leonard Hofstadter), Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper), Kaley Cuoco (Penny), Simon Helberg (Howard Wolowitz), Kunal Nayyar (Rajesh Koothrappali), Mark Harelik (Dr. Gablehauser), Austin Lee (Dennis), Emma Degerstedt (Emma) Nice idea for an episode, but the execution could have been better. Nothing really funny about this episode. (From "Big Bang Theory" Marathon on October 1st, 2008) |
