Harry Brown, a review by Jon

Harry Brown
3 out of 5

[understament]Harry, is not best pleased[/understatement].

The actor who played Jack Carter? A character who is an ex-Marine with a grudge? Going all Gran TorinoGran TorinoGet Carter in the lead is an ace and the rest of the cast are excellent and also avoid stereotypes, especially Joe Cornish in a small role; I know him from soap-land and he is also great in This Is England

The Stepford Wives (remake), a review by Dragonfire

My Thoughts

I enjoy this one overall, though I know it has issues.  It is very clear that the plot was originally intended to go in one direction and then changes were made, but some of the scenes tied to the original plot were left in the movie instead of being changed or removed.  That does make the plot a bit of a mess, but I still manage to enjoy the movie overall.  It is entertaining and I think the plot is interesting.  It isn't going to appeal to everyone and I know that many people think it is horrible.  The movie could have been funnier, but there is a decent amount of humor in it.

I did get a review posted on Epinions.

"Due South" marathon, a review by Tom

1.05 Pizzas and Promises (1994-10-20)
Writer: Paul Haggis (Created By), David Shore (Writer)
Director: George Bloomfield
Cast: Paul Gross (Constable Benton Fraser), David Marciano (Detective Ray Vecchio), Beau Starr (Lt. Harding Welsh), Daniel Kash (Detective Louis Gardino), Tony Craig (Detective Jack Huey), Catherine Bruhier (Elaine), Ramona Milano (Francesca Vecchio), Fab Filippo (Lenny Milano), Harvey Atkin (Tex Markles), Debra McGrath (Tammy Markles), Patrick McKenna (Gary Redfield)

The guy who played Buffy's short-time boyfriend Scott Hope guest stars as the Pizza delivery guy whose car gets stolen. Great scenes with Francesca. As usual some great one-liners.
This time something struck me: Fraser reminded me very much of Kryten from Red Dwarf.
