The Running Man, a review by addicted2dvd

The Running Man: Special Edition
THE YEAR IS 2019.
Television is now ruling people's lives. The most popular "audience participation" game show is "The Running Man" - where convicts can win pardons instead of "parting gifts" by defeating murderous henchmen known as "stalkers." The stalkers haven't had much of a challenge lately...until Ben Richards (Schwarzenegger) comes along.

My Thoughts:
I figured while I am at it... I would go ahead and knock out my other new movie. This one I know I have seen before... but it was many years... when it was first out on VHS. I definitely enjoyed it then... and now is no different... because I still found this movie to be a lot of fun. Makes you wonder... with the popularity of Reality TV... is it only a matter of time before we take it this far?

I thought it was fun to watch the "Stalkers" go down one at a time... going against Ben Richards. My favorites of the stalkers had to be between the one with the chainsaw and the one with the flame thrower. There was a few extras on this DVD... but I didn't check out any of them yet.

Lord of Illusions, a review by addicted2dvd

Lord of Illusions
From best-selling author and celebrated director Clive Barker comes a supernatural thriller that rips apart the boundaries between sanity and madness, between the art of illusion and the terrifying forces of magic. With heart-stopping suspense, "masterful visual effects" (Roger Ebert, 'Chicago Sun-Times') and non-stop terror, it's a riveting journey into the shadowy corners of the human soul.

Scott Bakula ("Quantum Leap") portrays Harry D'Amour, a private detective visiting Los Angeles on a routine investigation. Harry gets more than he bargains for when he encounters Philip Swann (Kevin J. O'Connor), a performer whose amazing illusions captivate the world. But are they really illusions? Harry isn't so sure as he is thrust into a nightmare of murder, deception and terrifying assaults from the dark beyond.

TV Star:
Scott Bakula (Sam Beckett on Quantum Leap, Capt. Jonathan Archer on Star Trek: Enterprise)

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever watched this movie. I finished watching it... and I still don't know what the heck was going on! A good friend of mine recommended this movie to me. And she just told me that if I wasn't paying complete attention to it... I would definitely get confused so that may be why. As I was interrupted several times in the movie. So to be fair I definitely have to give this one another shot. But from what I understand.. Clive Barker's movies can be confusing anyway. So let me just warn you... if you go to watch this movie... be sure that you can devote the whole 2 hours to the movie without any distractions.

Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon, a review by Tom

17. Enemies (1999-03-16)
Writer: Joss Whedon (Created By), Douglas Petrie (Writer)
Director: David Grossman
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase), David Boreanaz (Angel), Seth Green (Oz), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Kristine Sutherland (Joyce Summers), Harry Groener (Mayor Richard Wilkins), Alexis Denisof (Wesley Wyndam-Pryce), Michael Manasseri (Demon), Gary Bullock (Sorcerer), Eliza Dushku (Faith)

A good episode with a surprise twist. Although I am still not sure, if the circumstances of this twist are not just too far fetched (i.e. Giles knowing the demon who did this spell and having him on their side).
